Yikes!! I have to admit I am spending time with that guy Newton today. It was getting warm the other day, I turned on the AC. Yesterday I discovered that the drain had frozen....so there is water running under the floor.

I did not discover it until today. Loads of wet towels to soak up the carpets and floors. The washer/dryer is going nonstop. I have put extra fans blowing on the worst parts.

I have a pump system in the unit, so the darn thing must have gone out. Normally, that pump would kick on or the air conditioner would cutt off.
This happened a few years ago. The service company came and replaced it, it was still under warranty. I will call them tomorrow.

If the floors or carpet are ruined it will probably be less cost to replace it than turn it on the homeowners. I am going to start looking at some cost of flooring these days. Probably time to replace anyway.

Perfect rainy day. I opened my windows because the pollen is washed away and a light breeze won't drive any rain in.
Worked on quilts, laundry, cooked a big lunch. Made sourdough and put yogurt that was strained last night in containers.
Pittered and pattered about all day. Now I'm relaxing before cleaning up the kitchen.
DH washed a bunch of garden pots. A BUNCH of pots. They were drying on towels everywhere!
He complimented my new Dragonfruit candle. He's picky about scents normally.
I like this kind of day.

That sounds like it was a grand day, @hollydolly
with so many interesting things to see there, and with your daughter.🤩
Could you have managed to sneak your way into that cozy bed, for a rest, mid-way thru your excursion? 😊 😁

Yesterday, the noteworthy event
was that I banged my elbow, very hard, on the corner of a (very hard) tabletop.:eek: Youch, it was sudden and hurt worse than I thought it could or should. And for longer.
The pain went up my arm badly. I tried freezing cold packs.....and eventually a warm one, but mostly just had to wait it out, nearly 24 hours, till it abated.:cautious::confused:

It was not at all helpful, toward my already difficult nights.
Not conducive to sleep.:(

But I am still alive, and at home, which is the gauge I use to determine that I'm alright.
I don't set my gauge too high, so that I can meet it more often!:giggle:And have the positive feeling, that reaching it generates in me! 😁☺️

I helped a little today, with moving clean laundry from place to place.
(Any place will do; Please note the previous sentence regarding gauging my activities. 😉🙃🙂)

Well, now I've cheered myself, and you-all helped, with your excellent listening! Thank you!😄

Oh, I cleaned cat's ears today, and claws, which needed it badly.
Good accomplishment, there.😻

Really bad luck today; or, a wrecked Sunday excursion.

It's a beautiful day today, and we decided driving 1 hour to the beach on the ocean. Because I have dogs in my car and my wife is allergic to dog fur, we had to use her car. I barely had entered Freeway 91, when I hit a metal object that caused us to have a flat tire.

Next shock: during a routine service, someone must have stolen the tire changing equipment from the car. So, we called the Auto Club Emergency (up to 3 services a year are free) and they were with us in 15 minutes even though it was Sunday morning. Great. But with the new donut emergency tire, the planned excursion was out-of-the-question. Instead, I drove home to drop off my wife.

I inspected the damaged tire: an almost brand-new tire (about $150) shot and the rim damaged. With a sledge hammer, I straightened out the rim and hope they will not insist on getting a new rim. Then I drove to the tire shop where they have the right tire size in stock. Most tire shops are open on Sundays, but not the one we usually go to. So, I'll be back tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.

We lost the $75 hubcap. I walked the freeway up and down and couldn't find it. Since my wife's 2010 Honda Fit has 130,000 miles down, I was thinking anyway of buying her a new car as retirement gift, hopefully next year. So, getting a generic hubcap will do in the meantime.

You did a fine job on that tire, @packleader !
Well, I'm glad it wasn't worse and you're ok.
Sorry about the bad luck.

@Blessed ...what a mess! Hope you get new flooring, that's exciting. Is your insurance deductible more than the fix would cost? If no, I would use it. Something is better than nothing. Good luck whatever you decide.

All the towels were washed and dried. They have all been placed back down on the floors, I do my little stomp, stomp dance! Then we start over. It looks like two bedrooms will need new carpet and the laminate wood flooring needs to be replaced in the hall. Luckily, I had 6 boxes of leftover laminate from the original installation, just need to have it installed.

I am not upset, strange enough. A nice fresh start will be wonderful to enjoy.

I will have to go pick out the new flooring to see where I am on that. The deductible would be about $4,000. I don't think it will cost over that amount so it is almost better not to file a claim at all. The value of the house has been climbing so fast the last few years, in turn, the cost of my insurance goes up as well.

Around 12:30, I walked to Taco Bell to get a 5 layer burrito. It was one of the free items offered for downloading the app. I took a long nap this afternoon. When I woke up, I cooked green beans with the onion-pepper mixture (both frozen products). The green beans and the rest of the burrito was dinner. Another nap followed shortly after. In between those naps, I watched T.V., read some news and articles on a couple of my news apps and played games on my phone.

I'm so sorry that happened to you Kaila! I hope you are pain free by the time you read this.

A post processed crop from a rose garden close-up shot this morning.

Would you gals like a piece of mr daves slightly crunchy sweet, strawberry butter candy with a bit of frosted sugar?

Last night, I did a bit of cleaning and putting away groceries. I felt fine while I was doing it, but I must have overdone it. I felt awful today.

It didn't help that my neighbor was playing music in his house from 4 am- 11 am. His house is far enough from mine that the music isn't loud enough to report, but it's loud enough that the constant pounding of the bass is disconcerting to sleep through.

I was able to rest with a guided meditation and felt a bit better, but I'm discouraged. I thought I was doing well yesterday.

@OneEyedDiva A 5-layer burrito? Whoa. That would feed me from now until mid-week.

Not up until 6. These five days off I think the earliest I got up was around 5ish. That's telling me something. Something like clock in, get the work done, leave and leave the work at work when I clock out. Something like there's nothing I do or say that will change anything about how the work gets done or why it gets done the way it gets done or even that it matters.

Still crickets from Sir and still all at sea about what time to show up tomorrow morning. I was set on 6am since that's what's on the schedule. If I do that, it means I'll be there way later than I want to be. However, if I'm really supposed to be there at 4am as usual, I'll be late. How am I supposed to know whether something has changed and 6am is now my start time again or if nothing has changed but one of the assistant store managers effed up the schedule? What would y'all do?

Oy. Need to shut off my work brain and enjoy the last of my five days off.

It's going to be sunny today but not very warm, maybe in the 60s but at least no wind. Maybe I can bestir myself to get some weeding done. Or not...;)

DD and crew will be back sometime today. I hope it's early-ish.

It's name is deceiving. Trust me when I tell you GG...it wasn't that big. I'm not a big eater at all and I was able to eat about 2/3 of it while I was at Taco Bell.
Yes, do turn off your work brain and relax!

When something like that happens I might get upset for a split second, but then go into take charge mode and get it done. Are you like that?

When I took my early walk this morning around 6:20 was a tad nippy 35,but no wind as I walked 2 blocks to buy today's NYT
Marcia called me last night asking if I could dog sit Tage this afternoon for a couple of hrs, she's going out to lunch with a friend. Any opportunity to be with him is always a delight ,highlight of my day

Me: I would want to go in at six and and figure that they are giving me a break on my day back. However, being conscientious, I would fear it was a computer error and that my work, which was supposed to start at four, would fall on someone else or not start at all making me feel like it was on me.....even if it wasn't. 😒

If we were kids (or some adults) these days, there would be a very good chance that this would not weigh on our mind whatsoever! We wouldn't have even looked at the schedule until 12 am the night before while in the club.

But, we're responsible adults and I know if I didn't hear anything from work I'd show up at four, bring my tablet, and if it was my mistake, I'd hang out in the break room with coffee and the internet. If I could go on and clock in I would.

That's just me. What would YOU do if it were ME and I asked you?

@hearlady I really don't know what I'd say if you asked me the same question.

My work wouldn't fall on anybody else because at 4am I'm the only one there until usually around 7:30 or later when Sir might or might not roll in. NL starts at 9. Cookie usually works later in the day, maybe 4pm-7pm.

I'm gonna text Sir one more time. If no response? I dunno...

Anyway, what I do know is that I'm hungry and gonna eat breakfast :)
