I'm up and running behind, but...

Good ideas about video/pix of the mess left behind yesterday. I didn't think of it at the time because I was so gobsmacked and just plain furious. Sir called the deli manager over and asked me to tell her about it. She was with him in the bakery at the time they were ready to leave and heard NL telling him she'd "take care of it."

No point it taking it to management. NL is a pet of the store manager. He's the one who brought her over from another store. I'm telling you that it feels like it was a personal thing towards me, but Sir said that no, it was a personal thing towards him. I dunno. I'm the one who had to deal with it.

All I know for sure is that it took more than two hours to get it all straightened away, and the cookie dough that had been left out overnight? Tossed.

Back at it today. NL will be there, but probably not before 9 I hope. If she's there early, I'm gonna just finish up and go upstairs to the computers and spend the rest of my shift catching up on required "training" that needs to be completed before the end of the month.

Gotta run. Y'all behave.
 

I went to sleep super early last night so up at two this morning! Everything I did not do last night, I am doing now. I was so tired from my day out shopping and doing errands. That is why I like to shop online and get grocery deliveries. Sometimes though, I want to pick out my foods or look for certain ones. Once I know the brand name, variety and size I can order it online in the future.
 
Going to find some equipment for my mom's return home. Hoping where I am volunteering has something. I donated my stuff a few years ago and now I wish I hadn't. Oh well.

Might have dinner out with my friend tonight and I really need to get out and feel like life is a tiny bit normal. It's hard to squeeze normal out of what isn't right now.
 
Morning all....60F here and raining a minute ago....slept in today!!!! till 7am wowee...now i will feel behind all day LOL..
Danged grass is growing so fast with all this rain that it needs
mowing again, just had it done last week!!! and landlord gets
notice from city if it is 6inches or more !!!No big plans for
the day...on 2nd cuppa rite now....take care y'all !!!!:giggle::coffee:
 
I got up and outside early, getting tools arrayed to attack some edging and trimming. Then had breakfast and once late enough went back out and made the noise. Dicey on a weekend because the odds of disturbing others early are higher but it's been so wet things are growing like crazy.

Attacked some paperwork, populated new financial data into tools and charted things... these price increases are taking a toll. At least the trendlines still have positive slopes but it appears that only fragile and capricious market buoyancy and the interest rates on short-term stable cash holdings are keeping the curves from flattening. I hate looking at that stuff because it confirms the impression that wealth inequality is growing. But that's a topic for other threads.
 
It's a Holiday weekend.. the first holiday weekend of May..there's another one at the end of May. Lots of people have gone away, the children are off school for 10 days.. and today has been sunny, but not very warm..

I said yesterday I didn't feel 100% and this morning I woke up with a hacking cough.. so goodness knows what's got me...

I didn't go anywhere today, instead I stayed home and put my new lamp shelves together.. Took me over an hour to do it, trying to work out the instructions.. but it's done now, thankfully.. ...and my back was breaking bending over, while putting it together. It's 6 feet tall, so not a small thing. I haven't put it in to the corner I want it to go yet because I've got a solid oak coffee table there which has to come out first, and the lamp will replace that. Purists will throw their hands up in horror that I'm replacing solid oak with cheap manufactured wood.. but the lamp/shelves are more practical for that corner.. and I'll sell the table..

I've been home since 10 but fiddling around, deadheading things in the garden, moving other things, pulling up weeds and doing other stuff.

It's overcast today and not really warm but 76 with humidity that must be 200%. It. Is. Muggy. Out. There.

DD and DGS went to the garden center. I declined because I knew I'd want to spend money that I really want to hang onto. They came home with two pots of sunpatiens for me that they found on the *Clarence* shelves. I love Clarence! The pots are the "drop and bloom" kind that just get set into decorative pots. So I did. There are four different colors in each pot and soooo pretty!

Now: Ladies and Gentlemen, this is why *we* should not jump to conclusions. NL came in this morning and immediately wondered why the cookies she baked on Wednesday hadn't yet been packaged. Um. Wednesday? You mean Thursday?

I could see the light bulb over her head, all big and bright. The look on her face was priceless. She thought Thursday was Wednesday and expected that Cookie would be there by the time she was ready to leave and knowing that she and Cookie were both off on Thursday. Oops!

That's why the bakery looked the way it did yesterday morning and why she just left everything. Cookie would have straightened it all up before she left and would have packaged all those blankety-blank cookies.

NL apologized profusely and begged forgiveness. Granted. Can we say chagrin? Better to give the benefit of the doubt than to jump to conclusions. Shame on me.
 
Now 11:27am PDT, raining heavily. Expect storm will pass by 2pm and I will then get out for some TBD street fun. First storm over last 2 dry weeks+ so will be a good boost for our marine weather cool magnificent Northern California rocky shore vegetation and wildflowers that rise last in our coastal regions.

For someone who doesn't drink alcohol, you have exquisit taste in fine Cognac.
Courvoisier XO is top shelf stuff (figuratively & literally, in the case of your shelving unit).

lol..well that's just a stock picture, not my shelves.. however the only person I knew who drank Courvoisier was my first husband.. I never knew anyone else to drink it.. and even he now 40 year on... is tee-total
 
Had TGS from early Friday morning until early this evening, so a busy but happy time. At 2-1/2, he's at an adorable stage and I'm relishing every moment. So lucky he lives nearby and that we have so much time with him.

Busy day tomorrow, but a different kind of busy. Household and garden chores. When he's here almost everything gets put off except for errands. He loves going bye-bye in the car. 😍

@Georgiagranny, what a relief it had to be to learn it was a calendar mix up on the part of NL. So glad it was nothing more than that.

I grew up pretty rough. But that's the sort of thing we'd refer to as "ghetto rich."
 
Got a little break today. It rained heavily so neighbors were inside. I was thrilled since I didn't want to go out to water.

Comcast guy followed up with me. He was late to the call. I would have been ok with it but he was so defensive and argumentative, I gave up on him. Oddly I was sad about letting him go. He offered to call me back to get a new modem set up but his lies were tiresome.

I took a nap and am now expecting my internet to fail at any minute. I'm hoping to download a few more Netflix shows before it fails again.
 
We will be attending the eleven o'clock service at church, after which we will stay behind in the hall where socials are held, for hot drinks. We have some time to enjoy the company, then at 13;45 we shall enjoy our Sunday lunch at, The New Queen, a delightful country inn.

I'm up and already dressed and coffeed. Even made the bed. Trouble with getting stuff out of the way early is that I think I have all the time in the world and end up rushing :rolleyes:

Nothing much going on today after work. It might or might not rain.

I'll think about it when I get home. Y'all behave...I have eyes in the back of my head...
 
The sun is shining! The sky is blue! Must be summer at last ☀️

Oh goodness! What a dilemma! Having got all my summer stuff ready, I can't decide whether to wear linen trousers, cropped jeans or a summer dress. Probably the cropped jeans to start, move on to the linen trousers as it gets warmer and then break out the summer dresses. Okay! I got this! 😎

Well it started off all nice and sunny,but its now cloudy with spots of rain,,,,,,mrs j,is still out of action,so iv done washing bedding,now got sunday roast on,roast chicken and trimmings,then i have to get spare bedroom sorted for friend coming tuesday,,,im now sat done for a few mins,and drinking a guinness,,cheers
