@hawkdon Not a goose whisperer? Something was lacking in your education;). But count your blessings because at least you won't be slip-sliding on goose poop.

I looked. No Red Lobsters near me are closing. I know you can buy Red Lobster biscuit mix in the stores, but they're just not the same.

It was a peaceful morning, and the oven actually got cleaned before I left. Not looking forward to what it'll look like when I'm out for the eye surgery. Nobody else bothers to clean it, and it doesn't clean itself.

It's another rainy day so the best I can do is sit outside and look at the flowers. Darn. There are some that I want to move, but that won't be happening today.

Tomorrow after work DD said she'd take me to the garden centers to get some flowers that I "need." Need. It's a good thing the back yard is so big:ROFLMAO:

The saga of the TV remote. It was right where I left it. Found it after turning The Hovel upside down. I even looked in the freezer and the fridge and the trash can! Oy. Is this the beginning of GG's forgetfulness?

DSIL is installing a Ring camera outside my back door so that if I start wandering🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️ in my "eld," they'll be able to snatch me up and put me back where I belong.

TeleHealth appt. 11am, same as yesterday with different person. Yesterday's went ok & I expect this one will too.

After Young & Restless I will be loose in my neighborhood. Watch out.

Already set up AccessARide for tomorrow & will concentrate on WHY I do this to myself---------my Glorious Grandson! I get to play with toys!

My son & dil are pushing me to do more in terms of watching grandson, but I can't deal with AAR yet. Wish I were a younger grandma, but hey, that ain't my fault!

Hubby has found more 'lost logs',, he's out with the backhoe, pulling therm out.

I watched him while I was waiting on him.

His backhoe is large,, but the front end came up while he was trying to move a log.

I have fear from childhood,, that I get almost a panic attack when I see something like that.

I realize it comes from when my father would use his tractor on the hillside.
Always made my mother think it was going to tip over.
She would stand, watching & worry till he was done.

I've walked Mac, we've looked at the weeds & flowers
I should do something outside,, sky is clouding up,, rain forecast for the afternoon.

Besides doing laundry, I decided it was a good day to clean out my desk. Foolishly, I thought it wouldn’t take long. I’m still on the first drawer. I have to examine every thing and try and convince myself I don’t need it.

How many rulers do you think one person needs? Some of these are wood &/or advertising for some company that is long gone. I can’t recall using one, since they went into the drawer. I gave up three.

I told my husband that we should have an office box that holds things we think we need. Just set it aside and tell the kids to not even bother checking the contents. Just donate it when the time comes.
That's a great idea!

Recently retired a small garden tractor we bought used, about a decade ago. I'd maintained, repaired, and nursed it along... and it'd become a huge headache. I've sold it to a local small-engine mechanic in business for himself. And we bought a new one. Not the most powerful & expensive model, but one that'll do the jobs and run perfectly.

I also welded-shut a portable compressor tank that gets called on for pumping tires, powering a pneumatic staple & brad gun, etc.

Beautifully sunny day. I started off with early watering of the potato & strawberry patches... best time, before the sun gets so strong. Also watered a new patch of planted grass we're using to help stabilize top soil on top of some gravel & sand fill we put onto formerly dished-down ground. The greenhouse will probably be watered next. Our peas onions, carrots, radishes, and dahlias in our smaller garden will get water at the other cool end of the day.

May Grey -- Typical for this time of the year: ocean fog rolls in overnight but is usually burnt off by the sun late in the morning.
The fog keeps the temperatures comfortably around 80 degrees in the afternoon. We are living not too far from San Bernardino
in what is called the "Inland Empire" one driving hour East of Los Angeles.

On TV they showed the glow of the Northern Lights is reaching SoCal, but I am too lazy getting up at midnight to check. So what.

I usually get up around 6 a.m. to drink a cup of coffee and warm up water for my wife who prefers tea in the morning. Then I check my
blood pressure and weight. Some 40 years ago, I bought a beam scale for $80 that is still as accurate as my doctor's scale.

My pups are just as lazy as the pack leader. Dogs adjust themselves to the temperament of their owner. Not surprisingly, my grandson
has a Beagle puppy that is just as wild as the 5-year old owner. -- By 7-8 a.m. I am chasing my pack outside to do their morning
business. The senior of the pack gets glucosamine and carprofen so he won't complain when by 9 - 10 a.m. I take them on our
one hour morning walk. Unless the sun is shining, he is becoming lazy getting up in the morning.

And yes, I always check the remote video camera to be sure that my wife closed the automated gate when leaving for work around
7:45 a.m. When she runs late and is in a hurry, she sometimes forgets it. Before letting out my dogs, I always check that the gate is closed.

Have 28 cartons of apparel supposedly arriving early this afternoon. Need to open all to verify the counts, then sort. Hoping between DH & me we can accomplish this before mid-morning tomorrow. 🤞

If all goes well, he'll drop them at embroidery tomorrow and pick up the 25 cartons that are completed, then deliver those to our customer.

'tis our working season.

Welp. I started on the tall dianthus and was going to finish tomorrow because it's a bigger job that I thought. Nah. It looks so pretty right now that I'm gonna go back out and finish. I'm a glutton for punishment:rolleyes:. Hoping that what's being predicted to be a "punishing" rain doesn't flatten them all.

BBL if I still have the strength to post.

I've filled the feeders for the birds, filled the bird baths.
Walked to dog,, raked the old tomato bed, made lunch.

Hubby is mowing the lawn.
He was having a rough time walking in the old stalks where he's putting the logs.
Finally admits he is getting too old for that kind of work.... then asks what will I do to keep active?

Dare I tell him there are lots of " little " house hold repairs that need done?

I finished! Earlier I said it was cold. Nope. Hotter than a pistol!

If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I'll plant the flowers that I "need" to have; if it does rain, meh. Thursday's my day off, and the sun is supposed to be out.

Eating last night's leftovers for a late lunch. By the time DD was finished cooking last night, it was too late for me to eat. Anyway, it's delicious. Pork chops, mashed potatoes, fresh asparagus, California blend veggies. Yum.

Today I went to the optometrist and had an eye exam. It’s been 3 years since I last had my eyes tested and there’s been zero change. She said my eyes are incredibly healthy and with my current glasses I’ve got 20/20 vision.
I really like my new optometrist and her staff. It was a great visit. We took the dogs for a short 1/2 an hour walk. It was their second walk for the day. Here are 3 Cormorants sunning themselves. Not a great photo but still….IMG_4339.jpeg

GOOD NEWS: I finished my book last night!
emoticon
I've had it for a month (from the Library) and it's due today. Anything over a month, and you have to physically show them the item (to verify that it's not lost), before it can be renewed. So I'm happy that I'll be able to return it when I'm in town. 📚

BAD NEWS: I went to bed with a scratchy throat last night. Around 2 AM I woke up shivering and freezing! 😨 I took out my heating pad and laid on that....slept fine for the rest of the night. This morning I still have the scratchy throat, but otherwise feel ok. Just to be sure, I checked my temperature...no where near having a feaver.

again!

Goober was a pain in the arse yesterday morning! He had a bad attitude and an awful temper. He ended up getting spanked and sent to bed!!! In the evening he used up all that energy, running around (for almost an hour!) with "the zoomies".

Right now I'm on the run...like usual. 🏃

I hope everyone is doing well, and having a good day!

It's racing towards 10pm.... been raining all day ..

I had to deal with legal matters today.. so frustrating.. like beating my head against a brick wall . ..someone is doing their best to try and get out of paying their dues.. but of course it meant talks with several legal eagles and mails to others.. and so it continues.. just annoying.😣

Also had to call DWP (dept of work & pensions) .. because they apparently had overpaid my state pension by a few pounds, and they wanted it back.. . The best they could tell was that they'd overpaid it between 2022.. and 2024... so it was almost impossible for me to see where this little overpayment was.. but I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and called to pay it to back them, only to have a dickens of a job to get someone to answer the phone. Eventually after an hour and 3 different operators, I got it sorted...

Then I had to update my computer.. that's a PITA in itself.. takes ages to do... but it's done again for a another little while

Got the laundry done.. the last of it is in the dryer now... but soon after I had my dinner, I fell asleep sitting on the sofa, emotionally worn out. Slept for over and hour sitting bolt upright... trouble with that is, it'll mean I'll be up until way early hours of the morning...

We had someone in town have a bad accident mowing in a ditch bank. It stays with you.

Took the girls back. It's about an hour and 15 minutes but the way back seemed so long. It was rainy and gloomy, that's why. I'm tired and will get to bed early.
I did something I almost never do. I was hungry so stopped and got some Bonjangles "Bird Dogs". Chicken tenders in a hot dog roll with a pickle and bbq sauce. I didn't eat the soggy buns. The chicken was good.
When I picked up the food the girl just gave it to me. I smiled and said, " Um, I need to pay you." She looked at me like I was crazy, took my money but never said thanks for not stiffing us. Of course not. That would be friendly.

I live in small outback town ; approx 3500 popn - ways up north - cyclone seasons - 1 hospital ; which provides services to entire popn of Indigenous and non-Indigenous - primary health care ; secondary health care and minor surgeries. We also have an Aboriginal Health Service provided primary care only - I can access either.

Last week I was directed to have a telehealth discussion about my meds which I did. This week I received 4 wks supply of daily meds delivered by health care car. It really couldn't get any better - major surgery fly to the capital city! free flight there and back - it's a gettin better and better. But they do call us the 'lucky country'? We were once the largest town in the north west by north west but that was in the cattle days - don't know what happened to the cattle?

Did some shopping and out for dinner tonight. Had three walks today. Maybe this means I’m going to sleep like a log tonight.

Re-evaluated the desk drawer I cleaned yesterday and got rid of half of the remainder. I need to do one a day and be really tough on myself.
