Going to bed because there's nothing else to do

I'm bored. Entertain me.
Ohhhh...I hope you successfully meet your deadlines then take time to de-stress.I'm still sitting at my desk working, and getting frazzled. I have a big deadline tomorrow and another one the day after. I thought I'd planned better, but I've been falling behind. It's past 11:00 pm now.![]()
You're moving?A phone call from work, "the s**t has hit the fan, can you get in?" Nowadays work is not a kind of nine to five affair, it's more of a helping hand when they are overloaded.
Hopefully I can get out of the drive. We have scaffolders erecting scaffolding all around the house. The roof tiles are to be steam cleaned and the house walls painted. The property is being prepared for sale, we are having what the agents describe as, "kerb appeal."
Later this evening the old MG will need a good clean and spruce up, ready for the weekend where the car will be one of the chosen classics at The Shake & Stir Festival. The weather looks like the sunshine will last, altogether a good weekend promised.
I'm sure HC mentioned a while back that he was downsizing...You're moving?
chores make you happy ?... you mad impetuous fool...I'm deciding what to do today. I thought to myself last night that I should do things that make me happy everyday.
It gives me motivation to get the chores done early although some of the chores make me happy!
I think I remember HC mentioning it.chores make you happy ?... you mad impetuous fool...![]()
Me, too, except that I'm re re re re re retired.I'm always thinking, "I should be doing this or I should be doing that".
I'm retired. I should be doing what I damn well please.
At least most of the time.
Holly is right, we do have a lovely house, but the daily maintenance has become a bit more than tedious. Nearly thirty years ago when we moved in we could zap through it with the vacuum cleaner, duster and polish, now it's become a military exercise. Such is life!I'm sure HC mentioned a while back that he was downsizing...
yes I find the same here HC... so I empathise. I mean I get everything done..unlike you i don't have cleaner or a gardener.. so it's a lot for one person here.. but because I don't have anyone else to please I do it in my own time.Holly is right, we do have a lovely house, but the daily maintenance has become a bit more than tedious. When I've been going to lunch lately, I'm either sitting alone or other residents joined me. I know most of them by name now.,always say'Hi' They ask how I'm adjusting, I tell them 'I love living here,staff/ residents have been very welcoming& helpful, food is really good'
