Happy Friday, July 12th, y'all!

Cooling down nearly 10 degrees today to a much more comfortable 90. I feel for others who are suffering with high temps, and especially those who are dealing with high humidity.

More business chores today, but nothing too taxing, I hope. About to move to that while my brain is fresh from a good night's sleep and a couple of cups of coffee.

Check you later, kids...

I did some of the dreaded weeding and general cleanup at the back of the garden before DD and DGD wanted to take me to one of the other Kroger stores to get some stuff. It's not all done, of course, but tomorrow's another day, right? It was 66F when I got up and is already 86F at 11am.

I used my Kaiser food card so only spent about $60 of real money but still got 400 more fuel points. DD paid for stuff she got and got another 150 fuel points. We're up to 800+ already, and it's only the middle of the month. Ten cents off a gallon for each 100 points...that means 80 cents off/gallon so far in July. Yay.

I finished my Mom's banking while in town, yesterday. I had a 10 day window to make changes in her account. Yesterday was the 10th day....phew, just made it!!

🏋 Gym was very good. I enjoyed my workout.

🎾 Afterwards, we went to The Club House for coffee. The Wimbledon Women's Semi Finals was on. Excellent competition! Of course, Dio and I were rooting for opposite players!!

We left long before it was over, so when I got home I had to look up the ending. My players won!!!

The Finals will be at 2 PM (UK time) on Saturday, so she has one day to rest up.

Trying to entice the boy dog to eat something
My elderly fella, Mason, just wants to nap on the leather observation platform
He won't starve himself and honestly could stand to lose a few
So he'll eat when he eats ...
Beef with a veggie medley, Mild shredded cheddar topped with chips of homemade beef jerky
Offered and refused, so going into the frig for later ...

well, we've had absolutely terrible weather here for Wimbledon, it's been called off several days this month

awww he looks verrry tired, bless his old paws.

DS and DDIL went back to Maine last night. The first trip was for her family reunion, almost in Canada. Then, on return they wanted more out of their remaining vacation time, so they went to Ogunquit, to return Sun. night. It's a lovely coastal Maine beach town.

So back I go to feed their cat and tend to the cat box for today and tomorrow. After that, I returned a few things at Walmart. Such a thrill!

Looks grand

I love Maine! Such character and a real down home feel to it.

Let's say I'm dyslectic & got a letter out of place when I signed in.

Asked hubby to start the weed whacker,,, he didn't.
After several tries & a bit of cleaning around gas feed I got it going.

Didn't take time put on jeans, had to wash up when I was done.
Different colored day lilies are blooming & tall grass blocked my view.
Well Sliverfox is cooler than Silverfox IMO. 😎

I'm so glad they went!
On one of our trips to Maine, when the kids were growing up, we went through Kennebunkport. We were across an inlet (as I remember) from the George H.W. Bush family vacation home. We saw Barbara Bush out in the front playing with the dog.
I am sure we stopped at that ice cream stand. I may have a picture.
Growing up my parents always spoke fondly of Baa Haabah (Bar Harbor). As I recall that I imagine myself or my siblings may have started there. 😍
So many memories. Thanks for reminding me.

Thought those of you who who aren't British or German and may not be familier with these holiday homes...might like to see inside the rental caravan on a holiday Park.. much smaller in size than American Mobile homes...

Most Caravans on the Park looked like this..altho' there were a few privately owned variations...

Camp.jpg

they are VERY hot inside... the interior is very small... 12x28 ...inside... the passageway is very narrow about 18 inches wide, so if the bathroom door gets opened, it's impossible to open the opposite bedroom door at the same time without causing damage to each door.... they all open outwards..

caravan-7.jpg

the bed is just 4 feet wide...and between the bottom of the bed and the bedroom door, there's just enough space to get in, and no more. There is no space at all for any other furniture than the bed...
