OMG! I woke up early and there's a yellow thing in the sky! Maybe I can put the rain coat away for a while 🥳

We are going to get out and enjoy the summer while it lasts, tomorrow we might be back to rain clouds again

@Trish You are welcome to our bright yellow orb in exchange for a few drops of your rain when it comes back.

It's gonna be hotter today than yesterday so I have to get started in the garden as soon as it's daylight. Hm. One of the things I miss about living up north is that in summer daylight got started very early, like between 3:30 and 4 am. That's when the birds started singing. Down here, summer daylight starts happening around 6:30 and isn't full daylight until 7ish.

lol..you're right, it's forecast to be showers tomorrow...

I was gonna get the hedges cut today..after all that torrential rain we had last week the hedges have grown exponentially... but I've got a bad back today so I might have to leave it for a day or 2...

oh wow, you don't get daylight until 6.30am ?... It was about 4am a couple of weeks ago, I think it's close to 4.30am now...

Pain in my legs woke me up at 3:30 am. It could only be soothed by standing, which I did. I had to stand so long for the pain to go away I was already awake. When I lay down for hours to sleep, my legs have intense muscle cramps that only standing, walking sometimes, alleviates.

I'm tired, but not exhausted. I think I'll make it through today, which will be a very hot one in the nineties with an unrelenting sun beating down. Oh wait! I love that! I'll be out today, you bet, even if I have nowhere to go, then I'll go there anyway. This great weather has interfered with my doing laundry. Thank goodness I have a ton of clothes, collected throughout my life.

It's okay, everything's okay.

Thought those of you who who aren't British or German and may not be familier with these holiday homes...might like to see inside the rental caravan on a holiday Park.. much smaller in size than American Mobile homes...

Most Caravans on the Park looked like this..altho' there were a few privately owned variations...

Camp.jpg

they are VERY hot inside... the interior is very small... 12x28 ...inside... the passageway is very narrow about 18 inches wide, so if the bathroom door gets opened, it's impossible to open the opposite bedroom door at the same time without causing damage to each door.... they all open outwards..

caravan-3.jpg

caravan-7.jpg

the bed is just 4 feet wide...and between the bottom of the bed and the bedroom door, there's just enough space to get in, and no more. There is no space at all for any other furniture than the bed...

They are tiny! Tiny houses have nothing on them.

...but of course they're for short breaks...and really that's about as much as most of us could stand of them because there's verrry little storage. The main storage is under the seating.... with one tiny closet in the main bedroom

In the second bedroom the room is five feet wide...with 2 beds each on 24 inches wide...

However people do live in these in places.....not on those camps but privately owned...

I suppose if one is a minimalist it can work...

About 5 weeks ago I woke up with a pain in my right foot which over a couple of days progressively got worse. Eventually got to see a doctor who diagnosed gout. Got tablets which helped but 2 weeks later it returned. Now on long term medication for that along with numerous pills for my heart failure. I'm sure I rattle when I walk....lol

I think I remember the term "Holiday Camps."
yes they were places like Butlins and Pontins... where they provided tiny little chalet ( huts ).. just with beds).. and people ate en masse in the canteens, and entertainment was structured..lol....They were a great success in the 50's 60's and 70's.. by the 80's they'd become uncared for...and unpopular with the masses as everyone discovered cheap package holidays abroad.. ..and finally all the Holiday camps closed...

The caravan park where I was staying had 2 pools.. but they were impossible to use because they were full of children... unbelievable how many children were there when in fact it's not even school holidays yet...

There was a bar on site, I went there a couple of times to use their internet , but it was full of people watching Football on big screens, .... there was also an incredible expensive little mini mart on site as well... but there is where the resemblance ended to the holiday camps ..

Trying to entice the boy dog to eat something
My elderly fella, Mason, just wants to nap on the leather observation platform
He won't starve himself and honestly could stand to lose a few
So he'll eat when he eats ...
Beef with a veggie medley, Mild shredded cheddar topped with chips of homemade beef jerky
Offered and refused, so going into the frig for later ...

old house hold this heat, 2 a/c running and couple fans....
Catch u later on......:coffee:;)

I managed a little more cleanup at the back of the garden before it got too hot to keep working. It's my own fault that there's so much to do back there because...well...I can't see it from the patio. Out of sight is out of mind.

86 at 10am is just too blasted hot. I'm gonna shower and put on clean clothes so I won't be tempted to do "just one more thing." You know how that goes? It's like "Oh, look! Shiny!" while I'm doing something else.

Everybody stay cool.

Loved Abbotsbury! The first time in England, me & friend hitching in that area. We were picked up by an Empty Tourist Bus. The driver gave us complete tour of area, including all the information he would give to the tourists. For Free! What an incredibly lovely man! Abbotsbury is one of the places he took us to. Wow, what a great memory that was.

I was joking when I stuck thumb out for the bus! Shocked when he actually stopped and offer us a ride which turned into a whole tour. Fantastic, @hollydolly thanks for renewing that sunny, gorgeous, English day!

Good morning! I'm up, but need to finish getting ready for the day.

My day at the rink, yesterday was a lot of fun!! Can't say the same for the drive home though.

Missouri has very few main roads that go through it's rural areas. The one that we travel on was closed, due to a bad accident that happened just before we got there. There was a big fire, Air Evac (medical helicopter), emergency trucks, etc. We were stuck for awhile, then went around on a ten mile detour on a county road so bad an ATV would have a hard time using. Finally got home really late. 😥. Of course, when I did get home, there were things that needed to be done, like feed the cat (!!!), etc. I finally got to bed around midnight. I have a feeling that I will be mostly useless today.

🎾 Barbora Krejčíková (my pick) won women's Final at Wimbledon!!!

Today's high is expected to be 96°F/35.5°C, with a HI of over 100°F/37.7°C. After breakfast, I need to wash Goober's bedding, litter box, etc (before it gets too hot out). After that, it might be a good day to do nothing!!!

I'm off to make breakfast. Will I be back later? We'll just have to wait and see!!!

The other evening I discovered a flat tire on our car.
Mentioned it to hubby at bed time.

He had wanted to take a drive to find a cemetery that one of the cousins mentioned.
Figured that drive would be put of due to the tire.

Nope after we got veggies, etc from farmer's market off we went.
Learned he had pumped up the tire, didn't check for cause of leak?????

Yup,much later,, he remarks that tire is going low there tire gauge in the instrument cluster. !!
I grumble about damaging the tire & tire rim.

Finally we pull into a church that has area to park in.
He gets out the air compress that plugs into car & put air in the tire.
Manage to get closer to home but need to stop & put in more air!

I'm really curious as to what is in that tire & where did we get it?
