OMG! It rained. Only a few drops, but it was wet. Maybe we'll get more. Or not. We haven't been able to buy a drop of rain for weeks. The temp has dropped from 97 to 74. It would be nice if it would stay there.

We went to Goodwill to drop stuff off. One of the things was a dry sink that my dad bought unfinished back in the early 70s. He was a painting contractor and knew what he was doing so the finished product was really very nice.

After dropping our donations off, we went inside the store, and by the time we got to the back where the furniture is displayed, the dry sink was already there! It was priced at $40. Somebody's getting a great deal.

The clerk who prices furniture told us how he determines prices. He looks on eBay and checks Google for values on the same or very similar items. The dry sink showed up for $275! There were four wrought iron chairs that he showed us on eBay that were advertised for $600. They were $100 at Goodwill. A nice Sauder shelf unit that looked brand new and identical to one in Walmart for $299 was priced at $40.

The clerk said that this morning a U-Haul truck drove up loaded with furniture, dinnerware, kitchen ware and whatever all else. The driver said all of it came from a storage unit where his parents' stuff was kept. They had both died months ago, and nobody in the family wanted to bother with a yard sale, so he rented a truck and donated it all. The shelf unit and the wrought iron chairs were some of the things he dropped off.

Dang! Somebody with a truck and time on their hands could buy from Goodwill, increase the prices, have a yard sale and make a nice profit.

I wish yard sales were a thing here but they're not.

Hot and sticky here again. Took doggie out; we couldn't wait to get back in. Thank goodness our wooded path is much cooler under the trees, but in the front it's murder.

I want to go out to pick up a few things I want; inexpensive luncheon plates and more watermelon but without A/C in my car, it's just not worth it.

I know I have to have it fixed but I'm afraid to disturb it or it will deflate into a pile of steaming junk.
iu

I know what you mean. The AC in my car quit more than a month ago.

Shopping day today and that will occupy most of the morning. Then off to the vaccination centre for yet another jab for some disease that they haven't discovered yet. As soon as you reach crumbly age here, the NHS wants to stick you full of some vaccine or another. I'm selective about what I choose .

I've only just noticed the odd sign for 'yard sales' spring up round here.

Good morning! If we're not being lied to again, it'll only be 90 today, and the following five days will bring rain. My best guess is that we're being lied to again.

Yanno those nifty plastic containers with lids for restaurant leftovers and fast food orders? Well. They're so sturdy and of such a practical size that I just haven't been able to resist keeping them because, yanno, they're handy for sending leftovers home with folks. Right. Like there are "folks" I'd send leftovers home with, like after a dinner party for 16 in The Hovel :ROFLMAO: My kitchen cabinets finally reached critical mass so that whenever I opened the cabinet door, they'd fall out.

So. Being the neat freak that I am, I had the bright idea of organizing them so that they'd fit. Nope. No such thing because there's no way to fit 10 lbs of potatoes in a 5 lb sack, so to speak. I bit the bullet. Nobody needs 16 small-ish plastic containers and lids. I! Threw! Them! Out!

For years I've been eschewing plastic containers in favor of glass. I feel free at last and only have a few plastic ones left, each of them for a specific purpose.

Now it's time for me to get stuff done inside and then get outside before our promised cool day turns into a hot day.

Pepper i find I'm saying the same thing, "be careful" to myself
a lot more often, esp when attempting to go outside to feed
the birds or whatever,......it is 82 to start the day, damit, that is
just too hot...no definite plans for the day...Mr. Arthur Itis is
visiting my left hand now, started yest afternoon, dang it...
got the laundry finished up yesterday so nothing really
important to do today and that's just fine!!! Be careful !!!;):coffee:

69 out with a nice breeze & here I sit.

Hubby & I deciding whether to go to the Farmer's open air Market or over to Amish garden produce store.

I used the peaches we bought Saturday in another blueberry peach pie.
We need some peaches to freeze for winter.

I should clean the freezers,,, before I start refilling them.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Be careful out there in the world. 🥰

Hello! It's going to be another hot one!

We got up on time today (6:00), and things are moving along. We plan on leaving for town earlier than usual today.

There will be a quick stop at the Library, then off to Dio's dental appointment. He's getting his crown today. While we are there, I'm hoping to find out what they are going to do about my (2 yr old) crown that is needing to be replaced.

Next will be gym, pick up a few groceries, pizza, and home. It should be an easy day.

So for now, Goob has been walked and fed, I'm having my coffee, and soon I'll make breakfast so we can leave.

I hope everyone has a great day...TTUL!

PT guy is coming at 9 am to see how my wife is doing. They gave her two more months of therapy so she can walk without help. I think she’s doing great.
2:30 off to eye doctor. Not looking forward to going out in this heat.
Can’t wait till Thursday and hopefully this cast comes off. I have arthritis in my thumb joint and it’s swollen and hurts like hell under the cast.
May go get a hot fudge sundae later and that should make things more better…🍧 🚗
