Up at 4:45 and having coffee. It rained yesterday evening after I had finished burning the pile of yard waste. That worked out well.
Today is weeding as soon as it gets light.
An incentive for me to keep up inside and out is this. I've been wanting to have a family Sunday lunch once a month since I retired. It's been two years but I had so much to catch up on. We do holidays but it's so hit or miss on who's going to make it year to year as extended families are involved. Never a set plan.
Now my youngest daughter is much closer. I live between the three children so they are all about the same distance.
The first Sunday of the month we will get together. Everyone can catch up. They're all on board and will bring sides. We'll do the main dish.
I'm excited. It's also a way to get some help for DH. I told him to plan to have something ready he needs help with and kids can knock it out for him. They've already agreed that would be no problem.

Suns coming up but it’s so gray with clouds it still looks quite dark. Nothing planned this morning but at 2:30 I get this miserable cast off. The only pain I’m having is from the arthritis in my thumb joint. It’s so confined that it makes my whole hand ache.

Thelma had her eyes checked yesterday and everything looks ok..just dry eyes, like me. I ordered a heated pad the we both can use to help this situation. Doc says it will help.

Going out to kitchen to make my coffee. Good day to you all.

It's morning again. Would you believe that I slept like a baby until 6:30? Now I'm all behind like the cow's tail and need to shift at least into first gear.

Got things to do like I said last night. I have plans. In the garden. If y'all need me, that's where I'll be.

One more thing: still no rain to speak of. Yesterday's didn't last as long as predicted and left far less than promised. The sprinkler is on again.

I'm sorry but I'm hoarse...Calling, and calling Gigi....Gigi..😜.. but you never hear me... so I'm done.... I'll go and cut my hedges instead...

Not long back...it's a really warm day. Waited 1/2 hour over my appointment time because I was seeing the doctor..( I didn't know that ).. everyone got called in before me who were seeing other physiotherapists...

Doctor wanted to speak to me to tell me that the damage to my knees, have gone to stage 4, which is the ultimate stage before surgery, and by injecting them with steroid at this point would make the damage worse.. he showed me all this on the MRI pictures of my knees, explaining how the cartilage is now gone and there's no protection between the joints... so ultimately cutting a long story short.. I have to be referred ( he's doing it )... to a knee specialist who will decide if there's any other steps which can be taken before Knee replacement surgery

In the meantime he's going to write to my GP, and get them to prescribe stronger medication... for the pain..because the referral could take months

I drove to North London because it's the closest place which has a big M&S and Superstore Tesco next door to each other... and got the groceries..

It's 1.30pm now.. I'm just having a cuppa tea, and then I'll go and tackle the hedges...

We had rain for about 3/4 of the day ,yesterday

I thought it would be a good day to clean the chest freezer.
Put a tarp down & removed frozen foods ,, covered with another tarp.

Got garden hoses into location.
One to spray with one to drain with.

The hardest part for me is getting that last bit of water out that doesn't drain out.
Inside of freezer done & put the foods back in.

I'll prearrange things later,,, trying empty out the other freezer into the clean freezer.

About the stray cat,, I put out some left over dog food & milk for it.
It was on the wood under the back porch .
Mac could hear the cat as he was on the porch.
Really got him excited.

Cat seems tame as if didn't seem afraid of me.

Hope someone will take it.

yes unfortunately, she explained that it will take at least 2 years because the Courts are so backed up in the UK with cases.... I don't know if she was kinda hinting that I should accept his low offer to save myself the stress of going to court myself and representing myself ( because it will cost up to 30k to employ a lawyer to represent me) .... she did say..''this is going to get much worse before it gets better''.... and it will take 2 years to get to court.. and then .. it's going to be very expensive, .. and so on... but I told her nope...

I'm not going to allow him to get away with this.. I did nothing wrong.. it's bad enough he cheated on me and spent 1/2 my money on a love nest for his whore.. and now he's continuing to steal from me.. Nope I'll see this through..

I'm gonna make sure he knows he's been in the biggest fight of his life...

@hollydolly I didn't hear you calling because I was sleeping🛌😴 I can hear you now👂I don't like hearing that you may have to have knee replacement surgery. Bummer. However...I do know folks who've had it. The ones who recovered successfully in the least time? They're the ones who were faithful about physical therapy afterward.

The burning bushes have been cut back. They may not survive the heat stress even though they get plenty of water:(

We're promised rain again today, but nope! I'm not falling for empty promises.

I just walked across the hall to throw a load of laundry in and DSIL was in the kitchen gobbling down lemon blueberry bread. He thanked me profusely for making it again. I think that means he likes it.

Just an early morning walk in our garden.

Left: this cotton tail lives in the drainage pipe behind it. My dogs ignore it which is unusual but great (because it hides instead of running away?)
Right: another Eucalyptus Tree branch came down (they are brittle) I better start working to clean it up. It keeps me going and keeps me healthy.

You would think the pups would love running around in our large garden; but no, they always want to be close to me.

Left: a colleague at work gave me a handful of Canna flowers bulbs many years ago, and they have spread like weeds along the creek on our property.
Right: my neighbor's wild parcel, as ours looked like before I cleaned it up (it's a heaven for coyotes, rats, and other wild animals.)

I've been paying attention but have a question. How the heck did July get here and get more than half used up already?
tomorrow the kids break up from school here. There is only one neighbour in this road with kids.. and that's the tenants next door to me....and the kids are LOUD every single day.... so they will go back to Romania for 6 weeks like they do every year.. and we'll be back to having peace again

DSIL reported that he needed a second opinion on the lemon blueberry bread because he wasn't sure if more lemon was an improvement so he ate another piece. According to him, more lemon was just what it needed.

Mother Nature is a b!tch. She's been teasing with dark clouds and copious amounts of thunder but no rain. I hope she gets warts. The forecast starting tomorrow shows the weather maps covered up with green and red and purple, including us, for the next seven days. And high temps in the 80s. Pfffft.

DD, DGD and I went to Kroger to pick up a couple of things and so that I could return a never-worn store-issued shirt. It was still in the unopened package, and it just felt wrong to pitch it in the trash. Saw a lot of folks who asked if "you're off today." Um. Yeah. Off forever!
