How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

Friday was my eye doctor appointment. Got there promptly at 3 pm and went in to have the assistant do a preliminary check in. Then waited until almost 4:30 to see the doctor. Why do doctors continue to overbook their patients? I let them know that this is unacceptable and should stop. I got that one ear and out the other look..😏
Anyway, we ended up going to have a fish fry at our favorite place. 25 years ago it was 9.95 a plate. Now it’s 17.99 a plate. Inflation rears its ugly head again.
Today our cleaning gal comes and our house will be spic and span when she leaves. Have a good day friends.
Aww @Pappy you mentioned a fish fry; now I am craving it but I just bought grocery.

I've just been out to water my new grass seed and new flower sprouts. Again. While out there I scouted around for space where there's still sun to figure out where to plant DD's gifted zinnia seeds. Found two likely spots. Gonna do that tomorrow.

There's no rain on the radar between now and 10pm so probably none happening tonight.

@hollydolly Did the rain you were threatened with ever come to pass? I hope it's at least a little cooler.
no storm a tall.. there was signs there had been a little shower during the night but that's all... nowhere nearly enough to clear the air...but it did drop the temps by 3 deg..

Did a little power washing and painting this morn.. (y)
In the house by 10..

Well, I'm in with the posters with clean houses. House is done, yard is done.
DH saves his stuff for last minute. It gets done so....
Company tomorrow is family. No need to go all out but they are company so I clean. Except windows. They'll get prints all over them from little fingers. Some things would be a waste of time.
My youngest daughter lives very near the coast and a river. This is the first year to experience tropical weather here. They're house is brick, that's good, but flooding and power outage may be a problem. My house is ready for unexpected overnight company just in case.
It could be that we get more of this storm than them. Keeping an eye out.

My GP discusses anything and everything with me during a single visit. No copay, but I also don't get the quarterly grocery card from Kaiser that you receive, so our plans differ.

I rarely wait longer than ten minutes between my scheduled appointment time and when the doctor walks into the exam room, but sure do remember the days of regularly waiting 40-60 minutes before coming face-to-face with the doctor.
("Hmmm....your blood pressure's a little high today..."
Gee, ya' think?)

I did "doctor shop" within Kaiser's GPs before settling on my current GP. If a KP doctor told me I couldn't discuss more than one thing at a checkup appointment, I'd ask if that was stated Kaiser policy, because I wanted be clear about the source of that rule before dispatching a scathing email to Member Services.

Can't help but wonder if it's that particular facility or doctor's "policy" and not Georgia Kaiser's.

No idea how NHS works, but that policy sounds ridiculous and extremely frustrating, @hollydolly.
yep of course, as anyone with any brain cells can tell.

By the time the patient sees a doctor this week.. and can only mention one thing.. and has to wait an average of 3 weeks before getting a doctors appointment again.. not only had the first issue worsened but then so will have the second or third issues which are symptomatic of the first..or vice versa and in fact the 2nd and third, possible issues may have been the more important ones to have mentioned to the doctor first...but of course the patient might not even realise that...

However the worst is.. that they often send people for say an MRI or ultra scan to determine what might be the cause of the first issue , and often nothing shows up, because the main issue is the 2nd or third symptom which has not yet been discussed with the primary doctor.. so you have the farcical situation where the GP then tell you that your scan results show nothing amiss.. and then the patient often feels as tho; they're not being taken seriously and fears mentioning the other symptoms.. and often don't ..particularly older people who are often dismissed by doctors as symptoms being down to ''age''..

if only they'd allowed the patient to mention at least 2 symptoms .. they may then correlate those into a better diagnosis, often a life saving one.. but nope... unless one is lucky to have a GP who is willing to give those extra few minutes to listen to another complaint, as I did a few weeks ago.. then the situation is dire..

I went to the supermarket early this morning for a few items. I finally made my (imitation crab meat) crab cakes. They are good but I think the last time I made them, they were better.

Other than that, I've been taking it easy because since Wednesday, my side has been stiff and achy. Wednesday and yesterday were the worst. I could hardly stand up straight, but bending down hurt too. I couldn't have gone shopping yesterday. I scooped the litter box a few minutes ago; I couldn't even do that last night, so my son did it for me. Hopefully it will be even better tomorrow so I can get some chores done.

I can hardly wait to get up tomorrow morning so I can go out and admire the new little flower shoots (it doesn't take a whole lot to please me). It'll be a few days before there will be grass shoots. They're cute when they first pop up and look furry? fuzzy?

After the deadheading is done and the rest of the zinnia seeds planted, there won't be anything else to do outside:( for a couple of days. Maybe my hair will finally get blued unless I decide to part with about $20 for some pavers to define where the lawn ends and to keep the grass seed from washing away.

As Bugs Bunny would say, "My superbrain is coagulatin'. "

Today I got one large old Garden chair painted in the same colour as my garden shed door... I've got another one yet to do, but it;s quite fiddly and require a lot of bending which hurts my back so thankfully the weather is decent and I've been able to spread the painting over a couple of days.

I also got my livingroom curtains down in readiness to swap over to the new ones.. ..I have double aspect windows so 2 pairs to hang and they are heavy as the ones I took down....so I'll get them up in the next day or 2 hopefully.

I'm getting some dental work done on Monday, which I'm expecting to be painful, so I might not be in the mood until later in the week.. we'll see..

Enjoy your day HC, I'm knackered just thinking about your plans. 😊
Hand on heart timoc, it was somewhat frenetic. Mercifully the 77 year old MG didn't miss a beat. Got us there safely and to the second venue, not a glitch. As for the two occupants that the car carried, timoc's description is somewhat apt.

It's a bit early to see if the band has put up anything yet, here's last year's trailer. We had good weather back then too.
What a great afternoon it was. We left that festival at around six, just at the end of the finale but didn't hang around for the encore.

Then it was time for the MG to transport us once more. The car was going well, in fact it didn't really need to stop. It's occupants, on the other hand, had weak bladder syndrome, either that or too much vitamin pee.

We didn't quite make it on time but thanks to modern communication we kept in touch and on arrival found our seats reserved.

There's a few photos that I can post later, right now we must get ready for church.

On my early morning walk at 6:40 I went around the complex, saw a couple people walking their dogs, temp was 72, without any humidity
I have great news to share, my co op apt is sold- YIPPEE! on the market for 45 days
Thurs afternoon, Patrick called he had 2 showings on Fri afternoon, we had lowered the price last wk. Fri evening he called, I was stunned to learn someone had made an offer in cash,we decided to counter offer, the person accepted. It turns out its Bob, who lives in the other building, owns the efficency apt. He looked at it in June decided against it. If he can sell his apt before the closing date Jan 15th,'25 I will be very happy. I say this because I'm still the owner/shareholder& have to continue paying the monthly rent at Tudor Plaza Bob told Patrick he has a friend who is interested in his apt
This has been an emotional week for me but a great way to end it

Happy for you selling your co-op Sue!!
How was your gathering with friends from your old place?

I was rewarded this morning while outside on the patio by a little deer about half grown, she was just outside the fence and about 20 yards from me, never did see the mother...I used to see deer at a distance occasionally here but it has been some time....so this was a treat.
Everyone have a great Sunday!

Good morning folks....sunny outside and about 75F, going to

Good morning. I got up "late" at 7 so had to scurry around and get out to the garden before the heat cranked up.

The bonus zinnia seeds have been planted and some cannas moved. Yeah, I know it's not the best time to transplant them, but what the heck. There are so many that if they don't survive, it won't even be noticed. Yesterday's seeds haven't sprouted nor have the Bermuda grass seeds. Maybe tomorrow?
Replaced batteries in a couple of my solar garden lights. Oops. Forgot to deadhead. Tomorrow because I'm done for today.

@hollydolly There's one good thing about full dentures...no more drilling! Having said that, I'd really rather have my own real teeth.

@moviequeen1 Yay! Your apartment has been sold, and if his friend wants his current place, all the better!

@hawkdon Poor fox! Can you at least keep giving him the meds and some food and water?

The tropical storm in Florida should deposit some rain here Thursday and Friday. Too bad it won't lower the temps, too.
