Morning folks, it is 17F deg here this morning, burrrrr...okay that
is enuff winter, lets go to spring now okay!!! Don't know what
I am doing today yet, brain still foggy, a bit of laundry maybe,
couple calls to make, otherwise not much going on in my life,
just life!!!!!! ;):p:coffee:😆

My early walk this morning at 6:45 went around building complex twice, bundled up temp was 33,light slow falling. The sidewalk was shoveled yesterday so I could see where it was this morning. It felt wonderful to get some fresh air We have about 6 inches of snow
My friend Mary&I made plans to go to Target at 9, need a couple of items
I've invited friends from Canopy of Neighbors where I use to be a member/ volunteer for lunch at 12:15,to see my apt. We've had to reschedule this twice.
The rest of my day read yesterday's NYT I go it this morning with today's paper
I may go out again for my afternoon stroll

Yesterday, me & grandson in CVS, a really nice store with lots of stuff, not like my crappy local CVS......anyway, this store has a Greeter!! Like a Walmart!! and she asks my grandson "Is this your grandma?" "Yes" he says. She asked "Do you love your grandma?" and he says "Yes." Without hesitation.

This public declaration really made my day, maybe even my life. I know, I'm being sappy, but it meant a lot.

This morning, am expecting a delivery, then I watch Young & Restless, then I do a laundry of 'delicates.' No dryer time, so it should go fast, I hope.

Our yo-yo weather...it was supposed to be in the low 20s this morning but nope...48. It's gonna soar on up to 50-ish, then start dropping and low 20s tomorrow morning. Unless, of course, we're being lied to again.

I didn't roll outta bed until almost 7 but have done a buncha stuff already, even getting the Spritz started.

DD found the fishing line this morning so maybe I can start on the rugs if the Spritz get done. Laundry is also on the list. We'll see how far I get before wearing out.

It's only going to reach the mid 30°'s today....too cold for me!! I'm with @hawkdon ready for spring!

I'm first up, working on opening my eyes.....☕. Goober on the other hand has been in the house for less than 10 minutes.....he has greeted his staff, had a drink, and is already sound asleep in his basket!!! 💕💕💕

Dio seems to be feeling better today, but I think taking my Mom to Wal-Mart yesterday, was hard on him. After dinner he mostly just laid around until bedtime.

Today will be much easier. Gym (mostly for me), Library (again, mostly for me), and home.

On Thursday's, I usually make chicken patty sandwiches for dinner. Today, instead of adding a veggie I'll heat up a can of "beef, vegetable, and barley" soup.

Stay warm, everyone!

well..that's another thing Scotland has that we don't..because here the children who live on the farms and outlying villages have to be taken to school by a parent..

There are the odd school buses.. but not many.. and those that are only stop at certain bus stops, so parents still have to drive them to that designated bus stop in for example 2 villages away...
Depending on where you live, a local coach company provides the school transport. The nearest one to here is W and G coaches - commonly known as Wallace and Grommet. No set stops - They generally collect pupils from the outside their house or the end of a farm lane. Older pupils going to an academy generally use a scheduled bus that is exclusively for students and stops at bus stops on request.

Yes, spacious. The price tag on it was well north of $80,000 and...
City: 16 mpg
Highway: 22 mpg
With a 21 gallon gas tank.
I stick to pick up trucks. Took a dolled up one to Europe for a year. SUVs do not work for our play date needs.
But - my garage queen gets a year to ten gallons. One of the last Chevy S10s, all original with not quite 40k. Sunny Sunday driver:>)

Well, @Georgiagranny, I have to say I was delighted that the temps were not as low as previous mornings... the roofing guys have been up on the roof since 0730, so I'm glad they can work in relative comfort. I finally found a roofing company willing to patch my roof, so that's a whole lot easier bill to deal with that the whole sheebang.

Messing around here in the house til they are finished. Cooked some apples, have mushrooms and bell peppers prepped for a quick roasting in the oven and will make a veggie sandwich for lunch-- said veggies + tomato, olives, and v-e-r-y thinly sliced onions with ranch dressing.

Vacuumed my bedroom, including the floor of the walk-in closet that was in dire need of it.

Trying to do the decluttering little by little... going through my CD collection gradually-- what's worth keeping, donating, or chucking. Some of the music that seemed so innovative in the 90's (like taking hymns and giving them a 'Victorian' arrangement) now feels dated and tired.

Ok folks it's now 2.45pm, and I still haven't been to sleep yet. I've just got home 1//2 hour ago... after being out since 10am.. I took the big bag to the recycle centre in the next town , and there was a big queue even tho' it wasn't opened yet.. so we had to wait about 15 minutes... then I drove to the Charity shop and dropped off another big bag of househod things...

From there I drove to the town beyond that.. to get the mall where there's a Charity book shop, and I took 12 hardback books to them.. they were absolutely delighted with them, because they were in such good condition

The mall was very quiet, just a few people wandering around. The Christmas decorations were very poor, there was no real festive feel to it bar a few Christmas trees.. but no festive music, Santas grotto looked more Grotty than grotto..

I bought a few make-up things in the beauty outlet shop..mainly for my nails... then I went to the salon in the mall and had myself beautified.. well you can't make a silk purse etc..but they tried...lol......had my eyebrows waxed etc..

Then to the designer outlet, where I bought a knee length Latte coloured cardigan... and a goose feather and Down, Body warmer ( GIlet)... prices slashed to a 1/3rd of the original prices..the Gilet is glorious emerald green.. I got one last year or the year before from the same place and it's the warmest yet lightest thing I own.... oh yes and in another outlet for high street store Next...I got a pair of white trainers, for just £5.00

Had a coffee at Costa in the mall...

On the way home, in the pouring rain, just before 2pm I stopped at the Chinese restaurant and got a take-away , some sweet & sour Prawn balls and some pork dumplings.. which I've just had for a late lunch...

Now as I've had no sleep at all all night.. and it's racing towards 3pm, my eyes are stinging, I really need to go and sleep .

Worked on interior Christmas decorations yesterday. Also too everything off the dining room wall unit, gave everything a bath in the sink, cleaned the wall unit, and put it all back. Now it's ready for DH to doll it up for Christmas while I bake this morning. When I get tired of baking, I'll do some more sprucing up.

Went to my book club last night. A nice evening of dinner, catching-up and book talk with a delightful group of women. Last night there were six of us. We only meet every other month, so I only miss if ill or out of town.

Hope all have a lovely day!

It is nice today! I helped DH clean out his truck and got swags onto the windows. He will have to put the two wreaths up on the sides of the entry arch. I'd have to get a ladder.

Getting excited. Will see my daughter and grands next week. DSIL will be traveling for work unexpectedly so they will hang out with us.
I put together a kit with old Christmas cards to make; tags, bookmarks, mini boxes, and wall art. I added thin ribbons, scissors, a hole punch, tape, glue stick, and a ruler.
I also upcycled a cookie making kit with better decos. It has a gingerbread mix and sugar cookie. It comes with cutters and icing. I added disposable piping bags.
Should be a fun week.

I did go out for an afternoon stroll around the building,it was a bit windier than this morning, just to get fresh air was worth it

I have had a so-so day....finally got with insur co to check on
the ins from last sign up, nothing has changed so will keep it...
talked to them about an eye problem and they want me to go
to prim doc first before eye doctor, so tried to get app't, no luck
too busy, so will try again next week....may have to get a new
land line phone cause the old one is acting up due to coke
I spilled into it a couple weeks ago....it is 26F deg finally, that is
the high for today...anyhoo....got one load of laundry finished,
another to go, cleaning lady/helper will be here tomorrow...hope my brain is unscrambled by then !~!!!:cautious:o_O:love:😔

Done and done. Yay. Laundry folded/hung up and put away. Supper cooked. Dishes washed and put away.

With the laundry done, I get to wear my Ladies Loungewear (with pockets!) tonight, and that's a good thing because it's gonna get really cold tonight.

Maybe I'll tackle the blankety-blank braided rugs in the morning.

Oh. Wait. Not quite all done. I need to fill up the pill box for the next week. It gets used up on Thursdays. I think it's a leftover from when I was working and had Thursdays off.

Started stuffing the engine back into the chevy. This puppy is going to talk the talk. :) Mother big cam, 13 1/2 to 1 compression, monster valves and ported heads. (y) Guess I've got to get a 1250 dominator carb now. Probably get about 2-3 mpg, but who cares.
Kinda wish they still had the Sunoco dial your blend and octane gasoline pumps. The price they had back then wouldn't hurt either. 😮
