Snow has stopped,, the wind hasn't.
Taking Mac out for walk before dark,
We both are looking at icy metal ???
In front of garage doors. ??

Eve spouts pulled off roof edge,by the weight of the snow.
Get hubby to look at the mess.

Neither of us can move it, full length of garage,, full of ice.

Finally hubby gets the big backhoe out.
Hook a chain to the eve & drag it away from garage.

He tried to plow some snow away from garage but backhoe wants to slip & slide.

What a way to spend our wedding anniversary!
Take care out there @Sliverfox
.. and, Happy Anniversary!

How is that coming along? I just ordered red light therapy. I've heard so many good things about it.
Being that I built the booth myself, there is a learning curve. I've found that I do have enough bulbs in it. Some positive things are happening and some negative. The positive things are either minimal or my imagination. The negative is that too much exposure causes the release of melatonin which causes crazy dreams that I vividly remember and screws with my sleep.
I started out at 20 minutes a day, every day. After more research, there should be 48 hours between sessions. Like exercise, the body needs time to recover. Too much or too little will show minimal results.
Now I am trying 20 minutes, 3 days a week.
Everyone is different and must find their sweet spot.

I also read about not overdoing it because after a certain amount and dose, the benefits drop. I started this red light therapy yesterday. I noticed that the numbness in my right hand subsided after the 20 minute therapy. I have the red and infrared combined, so it treats the surface as well as penetrating deeper. Today, I did my left hand. That had more numbness and it felt better, but it wasn't completely healed. I know it will need more treatment. I suspect I have carpal tunnel. I read that the more illness, the more time is needed.

Not much ever happens up on this hill but when it does, it’s a doozie.

1. Car of unknown origin sitting empty at a cattle gate 1/4 mile away.

2. Closet neighbor is coming home with wife and young daughter to find a man laying in the road. Neighbor stops - that or run the dude over. Man gets up and asks for ride —- well hael no that isn’t happening.

3. Neighbor calls police who must’ve been nearby. Flashing blue lights make the dude run with his backpack.

4. Neighbor on my other side calls to check on me and says lock up, get my brothers Smith & Wesson out, there’s a “ man on the run”. She is married to one of our deputy sheriffs but he was out hunting deer, until she texted him to get home. I tell her for once my dogs really were barking at something with two legs.

5. Word spreads quickly and this close-knit-walk-silent-carry-a-big-stick group, are suddenly locked and loaded.

6. Thankfully dude got caught a short time later — at the house RIGHT on my barnyard fence line. Going back on the timeline, I was finishing up at the barn (in the dark at 4:30 PM) and that awrsehole was laying in the road below my house.

I don’t make it a habit to carry any weapon to the barn, but this was a closer call than even I like and I may have to start. It seems there are people who prefer to rob folks on remote roads and this No-account thought he was going to score. Nice as we all are, scoring on this road could mean getting your family jewels operated on the hard way.

Why I have big dogs the general public doesn’t like——-

Yup, inflammation usually take a long time to get to the point that you know you need to do something about it. Healing can take just as long.
If you notice anything unusual or negative, research further and adjust your therapy time.

Went through my Amazon 2024 orders to add what was missing on my self tallying Vertex FBP budget spreadsheet. Continuing to get ready to calculate my Zakat (obligatory charity) balance. The spreadsheet also comes in handy at tax time. What I intended to do got upended. My Honorary Daughter came by to help my son with his juicing and to partake of. He spent a good part of the day making a couple of different juices and bean soup. I had cleaned and disinfected the area for him before he got started. While she was here, she video chatted with my granddaughter and Honorary Granddaughter (her girls) so I got to see and interact with them, which was fun.

While he was busy juicing, my son had an unexpected visitor, “J”, a young man he produced Hip Hop music for about 30 or more years ago when they were in their early to mid twenties. There were so many boys who recorded in our home studio. I listened to their creativity and came to appreciate positive Rap. But they mentioned a song I’d never heard. I was impressed when they broke into the “acapella” version of the song that neither had rapped in all those years.

In the midst of our lively, fun conversation, I was amazed when “J” told us the song (lyrics and music) came to him in a dream. The lyrics were tight and clever. I asked to hear the recording and my son played it. The use of samples and my son’s beats coupled with the lyrics was brilliant and it had me moving to the music. From their conversation, it sounds like they are planning to release some of their music from back in the day.

My son produced several Hip Hop artists back then under the umbrella of he and my Honorary Son’s production company. The quality and flavor of the songs was so much better than the Rap that’s out here today. Timeless IMO and I’ve been saying for all these years, those songs need to be released. But it was very tough for independent artists back then, especially those doing positive Rap. One of the groups my son was in did collaborate on writing a song that was released, however. Today, with the internet and companies geared to independents, it's different.

I also got to play a couple of my videos for “J” and he liked the music. I’m always happy when the younger generation(s) like my stuff. “J” told us that we are two of his favorite people, which was nice to hear. Not usually one for unexpected guests, but I enjoyed the visits. It turned out to be a busy day even though I didn’t do any of the chores I intended.

Good morning folks... racing towards Noon here... and the rain is relentless. The winds are still very strong but thankfully are less so than they were throughout the night.

No damage to my property that I can see, I did have to go out in the rain to pick up some Garden ornaments, that's all, this is the beauty of having a garden which is pretty enclosed with trees shrubs and fences.. ... but my neighbour has lost their shed.. and all it's contents are strewn across the lawn... I don't know why they've not gone out there and picked everything up

That's so deep. Also, reminded me of the poem...

The Road Not Taken

By Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
I love Robert Frost

It feels like a South Sea island this morning, so "warm" at 32 that I sat on the teeny tiny patio to drink my coffee. Supposed to be 60ish today, then rain for the next few days before the next stretch of cold weather.

It's possible that some garden cleanup will get done today. Mind you, I didn't say it would, just that it's possible.

I'd really like to get to Walmart today but don't know what's on DD's to-do list. I texted her yesterday to ask, haven't heard back.

Rats. After all these years I must tender resignation from the Grammar Police. Been making so many errors lately, I fear it is time! I have enjoyed my assignment very much and will always cherish the memories. It is now time for my replacement to take over.

Had such a wonderful day yesterday with son/grandson. We went to my local park. They played football. Then, when we got back to my apartment, we watched football. Then my grandson re-enacted college games. Was a football kind of day. Sublime Pizza. Son went to Stop & Shop for me, and fixed a couple of things around this dump.

Want to keep busy and out of trouble.

DD announced that she was "ready to go right now" so Walmarting is done...20 minutes in and out. And...I forgot to put sausage on my list. I was going to make sausage and cheese biscuits for breakfast for DSIL on his birthday Tuesday. Drat. Maybe DD will go to the store with DGD today or tomorrow and pick up some.

Okay. She just went to pick up DGD from her BF's house and said she'll get sausage today or tomorrow.

It hasn't warmed up much, but the garden really, really needs to get cleaned up. Maybe in a little while when it's warmer. We'll see.

@hollydolly Those pix look awful. You're staying in today, right? BTW, did you ever get a back brace?

yes of course, I wouldn't dream of going out in this, it's horrendous tbh....everyone in my road have got their lights on, ( except me) it's so dark due to the heavy rain.. the winds are just so strong again as well...

yes I did tell you i got the Brace..I got it the day after you suggested it.. (y)🧡

Had an unexpected wrinkle last night. We picked up TGS in the morning, went to the produce store & Aldi (both located between our house and DS's), came home and TGS helped make cookies until he got bored , then after dark we took him for a walk around the neighborhood to look at the Christmas lights and decorations.

Well, he didn't want to go to bed - not totally unusual for a nearly 3 year old. But then he began to cry for his parents. We want his experiences with us to be positive and supportive so we asked him if he wanted to go home. (Yes) So we called DS, said we were on our way and brought him home.

I take no offense that he wanted to leave. Instead I'm rather surprised it hasn't happened sooner. The life of a toddler is no easier than that of an adult. And sometimes there's just no place like home.

Silver lining is that I'll be able to focus fully on cookies today. Lots to do before the parties and shipping.
