It's raining and 49F here.

A lacey night and I'm very sleepy. Maggiecat made me get up.

Good thing the garden got cleaned up yesterday because it sure as heck wouldn't get done today...or any other day this week.

Nothing on the agenda today except maybe a few naps.

Tomorrow is another story. Make sausage/cheese/egg biscuits for breakfast, be out the door by 8:15 for doc appointment, early dinner for DSIL's birthday.

First nap right now. Shhh🤫🤫

My early walk around 6:45, walked around building 1 time, temp was 43. It was wonderful not wearing boots for a change, the majority of the snow we received last wk has melted away
This morning Marcia is picking me up at 10:45, going to be dogsitting with my 'buddy boy' Tage for a couple of hrs. I'll be bringing his favorite lunch tuna fish/ petite carrots/ apple. The last time I was with him was Nov 19th,so I expect he'll go crazy when he sees me
At dinner tonight, made my reservation for 5:45, have no idea who I'll be sitting with
After dinner, tackle today's NYT crossword puzzle

I have to find out why I am suffering from heartburn every time I lay down in bed, It gets very agonizing, till I can't take it anymore, and I get up 2ish for the day, but the heartburn stabilizes and disappears eventually...

Lorie & I are going to finish up the backsplash we started in the kitchen, but first need to drive into town and get a few groceries before the freezing rain starts...

Hi Mike. I had the heartburn for years, mostly while I was working. Now that I no longer work, it has helped me. Also, an adjustable bed to raise your head up and don’t sleep on your right side if you help it. This pushes the acid up into your esophagus. I have it once in awhile now but a couple roll ades takes care of it now.

you may have a hiatus aka hiatal hernia.. which I have which causes horrible heartburn if I don't take the prescribed meds every morning..( lansoprazol..) go and see your doctor because reflux will burn a big hole in your gut and will cause you big problems if not arrested early..

It won't hurt to try this: Bend over then come up fast. It can close the valve off.
I've tried it and it seems to work. Taking Tums just covers and causes more problems.
Although I admit Tums are effective and easy. 😊

My aunt had a hiatal hernia and had to be on a bland diet. You should get it checked out and hopefully it’s not that. My ex was born with a valve that wouldn’t close so has heartburn for life. I got rid of mine by losing weight. There’s many causes and the hard part is figuring out what causes yours.

Partial sun for now, but 100% chance of rain forecast late in the day.

Men are on the roof cleaning the gutters.

Ordered a food saver vacuum and extra bags for GS and GD in law for Christmas. He told me they are getting me a new kitchen faucet.... the goose neck kind with the spray feature. I am so happy!

Nothing much going on here, as usual.

Have fun today Kids!

Can I offer them a tip? Freeze the item first in a cheap food safe bag (like the ones you bring produce home in), cut away excess bag, then seal in the food saver bag. It keeps juices from getting in the mechanism and ruining it. Learned the hard way. 😉
It also keeps the food saver bag clean so you can wash out and reuse.

Thanks so much @hearlady . I have saved your tip to my desktop. None of us have ever had one before.

yep. I've been on a very bland diet for years..my doctor says it can't be fun when I go out to eat and he's correct... no alcohol..no spices, no peppers.. no acids..lemons, limes, no vinegars.. balasamic etc...

And stay far, far away from any kind of mint!

My morning has gone OK. The temp outside is very mild (no sun) and Goober was too fidgety to want to stay in the house this morning, so we went for a walk.

After that, I finished writing out my last few Christmas cards. They will get mailed tomorrow, when we go to town.

Next, Dio and I went for a walk. Goober would have been invited to join us, but he was nowhere to be seen. He was coming up the driveway just as we were done. He has his own agenda, I guess. Now, he is in the field outside of the living room window.....hunting! We have never had a cat who loved hunting as much as Goob does!!
