Fresh snow overnight. Pretty for a day or two. It waited until we got home so no bad weather travel conditions. Lots of heavy rain while at the coast; that’s not too abnormal.

Enjoyed our visits with DH’s families. Obviously ate too much great food.

I couldn’t get over the way folks decorate their homes for Christmas. Large amounts of Christmas lights on every house and on every block we went down. Incredibly festive.

Even a short vacation wore me out. So happy to sleep in my own bed.

Went to what we thought would be a dance with big band and waltzes. Instead it was largely modern music (and rap which is not music imho) with mostly 20-something’s dancing so we joined in and danced til 11pm to whatever we could. I believe I had the honor of oldest. We could do requests though and we requested a few nice songs for dancing. It was a private dance group we were invited as guests of a friend.

Maybe I should ease on over to @squatting dog's place and help with setting in the new engine.
Could have used the help. After much fighting and many swear words, I finally got it in and bolted down. Now, I'm going to step away from it and finish it up at a later date.
Instead, I'm going to try to assemble this jumble of parts for my other project. :)

@squatting dog I'd have been a big help with the swear words ;), but I figured out this morning that it's been almost 50 years since I was in "car school" so.... The most recent book I have is the Chilton's one with the V-8 engine on the front cover. It's from before fuel injection. See what I mean? LOL!

A happy surprise @hollydolly. I mistakenly thought that the Mega Millions tickets were going up to $5 on January 1. Nope. That isn't happening until April so there's still time to win big and get my bony self over there. Whew!

My new jacket got here. Yippee. I freaking love it, and it has the inside pockets that I like. The old one is getting pretty shabby and really only fit to wear in the garden.

what does your new jacket look like..show us... :giggle:

Today was like Christmas day here with parcels and deliveries that I'd ordered over the last 2 weeks...

Jumper from Roman ( Blouse hasn't arrived yet ).. Turquoise top from Cotton traders... Fleece lined leggings and Fleece lined sweatshirt...

Set of kitchen weighing scales..

Still waiting for the inks I ordered from the INk store on th 16th of this month, may have to call them on Monday

What was surprising was that all these things despite being from several different stores... were delivered by the one courier...at the same time. That's not greatly unusual .. but as they always do when they've delivered they send an email with a picture they've taken at the doorstep....

Only this time, the picture they sent to my email.. bears no resemblance whatsoever to my door or my parcels.... I'm kind of revolted by the fact this doorway is so filthy... and I can be reasonably certain this person or house is not even in my road...😧

Had my toast and one diet coke for the day. Got a shower on the ladder, feels so good to be clean, even shaved the legs. Men complain about shaving their face, I would like to see them shave their legs!

No plans, heating pad on the back, ice pack back on the head. A nice glass of water beside me. Some left over poached shrimp for dinner, just need to pick a veg. Dogs behaving for a change, hope that continues for the day.

It was 76° today. I raked out an area of jasmine ground cover. I hate to use a blower. I don't find it faster or easier. I think it would be in a large open area. Maybe.
I rake onto a tarp then pull that back to the burn pile. You can pick up and carry a lot of leaves.
I also cut back some canna lilies and a zebra pampas grass. That grass is in a bad spot and I need to dig it up.
Now I have showered and am getting ready to make the sourdough and put to rise all night.
I should sleep well!
@Georgiagranny I love your jacket!

Nevermind, they are back at it!

Huh ?... a shower on the ladder ??

Went to Aldi again to use up my gift card. I'm pretty well stocked up for a couple of months, now. Case of dog food arrived, plus I picked up a small bag of dry food for crunch. I'll only need produce and a bit of dairy for coffee for awhile.

Mild upper 30's today..... rainy, misty and dreary.

Put a small marinated pork tenderloin in the oven....it was terrible! Seemed all fat and gristle. Picked off what I could and tossed the rest. Home-fries w/ rosemary were good, tho'.

I'm worried for you, doesn't the towel slip when it's wet ?
Nope. This was the best way I found to shower after my surgery. Now I only use it when I feel bad. Added: Also, something else I wanted to mention. I know you have to have a couple of teeth pulled soon. I had been using orajel for pain until I could get it done. I never thought of it before, but I asked my dentist if I could use it after he pulled the teeth. Of course, not in the empty space left, but on my gums below. He said I could, just squeeze it way down at the bottom of the lip and gum and rub it in. It really did help with the angry jaw.
