I am pleased the fridge has been cleaned out and wiped down. All the dishes are washed.

Put on some eggs to boil, some for me and some for the dogs. The pups take their heartworm meds with eggs. If not they just spit them out. The two littles will eat them covered in cream cheese but the big one is too smart for his britches.

I always get so aggravated at TV and streaming this time of year. They always hold back on shows so they get all their ratings. They think everyone is out, with family, doing holiday things. What about all of us boomers? We count on our entertainment to get us through times we are alone. Sorry, just feel whiny

I did not sleep well last night so I have decided to treat myself to a sleeping pill tonight. Everyone rest well!!

Nope. This was the best way I found to shower after my surgery. Now I only use it when I feel bad. Added: Also, something else I wanted to mention. I know you have to have a couple of teeth pulled soon. I had been using orajel for pain until I could get it done. I never thought of it before, but I asked my dentist if I could use it after he pulled the teeth. Of course, not in the empty space left, but on my gums below. He said I could, just squeeze it way down at the bottom of the lip and gum and rub it in. It really did help with the angry jaw.

thanks for that tip ..I actually have Orajel in the cupboard.....I really need to recover from the dental surgery as quickly as possible because I'm going into hospital the week after for abdominal surgery.. which I'm really dreading !
 

Mornin folks from a foggy London ....

The mechanic is going to be here shortly to give my car a Pre-mot.... keeping fingers crossed he dooesn't find anything that needs doing immediately... 🤞

After he's gone I'm going over to visit DD ad ( ex husband ) who has been in the hospital since beore Christmas and take him a few things... you all may remember me telling you he is recovering from Prostate cancer, and he has severe COPD so he really struggle to breathe...

I owe him no favours at all.. he was a deadbeat dad to DD... and she hasnothing to do with him... and the women and kids he had after I threw him out when Dd was very small, want nothing to do with him either, .. he's not been abusive or a drunk... however he was a gambling addict, and he lied and manipulated everyone to get his fix . but he's caused everyone grief through his actions everyone has cut him off...even his own Male friends

I can't see him struggling to live with no-one ready to help him even in a small way... so I do keep an eye on him.. and help where I can...even tho' Believe me he doesn't deserve it.. ....but I'll still do what I can ..after all he is DD's father
 
Good morning. The mother of all thunderstorms woke me up about an hour ago. It's still raining cats and dogs but supposed to stop around 10.

Phooey. It's going to be too warm to wear my new jacket today. I could wear it but would look pretty silly since we're projected to have a high temp in the mid-60s.

The only things I have to do today are a little tidying, wash up some dishes and vacuum. Guess that means another day in front of the TV.

@hollydolly You're very kind to do even a few small things for your ex. He may not be deserving, but he's a human being after all. No doubt he's spent many a day and night ruing his past behavior and wishing he could turn back the clock.

Ha ! if only that were true.. ! he feels he's the one hard done by... Narcissistic to the bone...!

Mechanic has just text to say he's on his way... ( he's late )... he says he had to go to a breakdown.. well I'm sorry.. why do I come after that ? Mine was already booked.../I hate when the first time I employ somoene's services they are late..I am such a pedant about time, I lose all faith in them from then on...

he called an hour ago to check that our pre-arranged time was still ok... no mention of having to go to a breakdown then...
 
can you believe this guy is still not here..almost an hour late and 30 minutes after he said he was on his way... so I just text him and said shall we cancel this for another day.. he said he had to jump start someone's car.. well how does that take an hour? and why did it have to come before mine.. which was already booked and is costing £50?....now he says he'll be 15 mins..if he's not here within 15 minutes then I'm going out ...

Don't worry you'll get to wear that jacket. Its only December. I'm enjoying getting things done outside with no gnats or mosquitos flying around my head.
And I agree @hollydolly Helping the least worthy can give the soul a boost.

When you're with friends, it's not whiny.....it's sharing. We are all here for each other! 💕

A whole sleeping pill would keep me groggy all through the next day! 😅

Well the time with grandkids and daughter has been great so far. Older granddaughter spent Friday night with me as a Christmas treat.. we went out to “Cheddars” restaurant for supper (not fast food but not the Ritz either—food was ok). As we walked up to the entrance, granddaughter commented on the architecture, “it looks like if a Mexican restaurant married a Huddle House” 😂

Yesterday we went to the most promising properties my daughter had viewed with the real estate agent. She ended up putting down a bid on a three bedroom/ two bathroom house and her bid was accepted last night. So we are very excited about that.

Raining today so not sure what we’ll get up to after church but we’ll ss

Oh I don't feel any kind of altruism from helping him... or helpers High as it' s sometimes known... In truth I should do nothing at all for him the way he treated us and especialy ghosting his /my own daughter his first born child in favour of subsequent children.. who ironically want nothing to do with him either ... but I just can't see people in need if I can do something to help... especially as no-on else will..


The mechanic looked over my car and complimented me on it's condition, said it needs nothing doing to Pass the Mot.. he even said my car look new underneath it's so clean.. and exhaust / brakes etc are all in superb condition

he fixed my cigarette lighter which is what I use to plug my phone in ordinarily and use to plug my tyre inflator into , but I haven't been able to use it for a long time because of a loose connection... he also ordered a new front grille for the Bonnet and that should come before the 4th when the MOT is due.. and he'll fit it for free.. .. if it doesn't then it's not an MOT fail...

In the meantime he said if the garage tries to fail my car on anything , (because often they do, when they can charge for an expensive repair that might not exist.. especially when dealing with a woman)...then to call him immediately and he will deal with them personally

On the way home I stopped off at the supermarket ..aside from fresh milk and fruit, I didn't need much but I bought double amounts of butter and several other things to stock up enough for after my surgery when I can't go out shopping... I'll do that again next week, and then there should be plenty enough here when I'm housebound...

The other thing i forgot to mention about DD's dad in hospital..is that it's his birthday today.... 69 today... all the nurses know it's his birthday so he's been spoiled by them...
