How Late Will You Open the Door at Night?

I’m also in a secure apartment building …. I don’t have ‘unknown’ people knocking on my door, day or night.
T
The hallways are very wide, brightly lit, and security cameras in areas around the halls.

There are delivery people coming thru there around the clock, but no issues with any of that in 8 years.

I don't answer my door for anybody day or night unless I know who it is. I peep out the window first and see if I recognize their car. Most people I know would call first. If it's night time and someone knocks on my door, the vibration would probably set off my security alarm.

We have a concierge and security .. no other way to buzz up. Everyone has a fob to get in.
If anyone were to knock on our door at night, we would look through the peep-hole first, and ask "who is it?". On occasion, we get politicians, close to voting-time.

I think most nasty people coming to my door are put off knocking, when they see the large bucket of water perched on a flimsy bracket over the door, with a string going through a hole in the wall into my hall. ;) 😊

Jeff ! BTW...the first season of his show The Old Man was good. The second season wasn't as good. I only watched the show because he starred in it.

Re the OP: @Jules Until several months ago, without a key, no one could get into the apartment building to knock on our doors, unless some fool let them in. Now we have a camera-intercom system allowing us to buzz people in. First of all, even family members usually call before coming over. If I can't see who's outside, they don't get buzzed in. If I can see that it's a family member, I'd let them in no matter the hour.
