How long will we live? Here is the answer.

I went through the 3 pages and did not see Canada, so guess I am going
to live forever. My mother's side of the family lived into their 90's so at
85 I hope a have a few years to go.

Just put the mouse on Canada and it will say 82 years. Canada is on line 13 btw.

Great website, Jim! Thanks! I am amazed by the fact that South Africa is the lowest at 50! Not surprised that last bunch are most all Africa, though. imp

Pure dumb luck, ie good genetic draw would be my guess.

Absolutely. Its all dumb luck. Ancestors going back thousands of years, surviving lifetimes filled with predators, diseases, natural disasters, and other peoples ancestors. All in order for a particular sperm to out swim a kazillion others so it could fertilize a particular egg at a particular time. Repeat generation after generation and that's us. :turnaround:

It says 80 for UK but do I need to do an average since I spent 48 years in the US, and 2 in Uganda?

I had a gggrandfather that lived to 90 and he was born in 1819. One of his daughters lived to 95. 3 of my grandparents died at 85/86 of different types of cancer, the other died in his 40's in an accident. My mom had 3 cancers, my dad had one and also dementia.

Still great health at nearly 64. Many in my family have high cholesterol and hypothyroid but I've escaped both.

My father, born in 1878 lived to 78. My mother born in 1903, lived to 78. Way beyond the life expectancies of people born in those years.

Looks like i have a few more years left to live if I keep up that record.

Having said that though, several of my siblings haven't made it that far.

Maybe I'm living on borrowed time.

My Dad is in his 90's and can still cut a rug...if I take after him I might be condemned to seeing 100. If I take after my Mom, definitely borrowed time...she was twelve years older than I am now.
