Yes, yes,yes.. you're so right! After all the hype and hard work involved with the preparations of Christmas, how many feel disappointed at the end of the day?
All that work and not quite as magical as displayed on TV.
I recall being stressed and then feeling letdown at the end of the day.
How Many Feel Let Down by the End of Dec. 25th?
I agree with you, Pinky. We learn to ignore the distractions, and focus on the heart of Christmas. The Joy and hope that comes with Christmas never gets old.I feel oddly peaceful and content, despite the long winter months ahead. Just counting my blessings while eating treats that are verboten.
So true!@hollydolly I don't know how to break the news to you, but the year isn't even close to over. We're going to keep doing 2020 and 2021 until we get it right.
I also recall feeling stressed and disappointed that all my efforts at Christmas didn’t measure up to the commercialized fantasy models presented by the media. "There are many things from which I might have derived good by which I have not profited, I dare say," returned the nephew, "Christmas among the rest. But I am sure I have always thought of Christmas-time, when it has come round-apart from... the veneration due to its sacred name and origin, if anything belonging to it can be apart from that-as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. And therefore, uncle, though it has never put a scrap of gold or silver in my pocket, I believe that it has done me good, and will do me good; and I say, God bless it!" |
