How many members have no adornments?

I stopped wearing earrings during the pandemic. They tangled with the mask and eyeglasses. My rings were too tight and now too loose. I sometimes wear one with a bit of masking tape on it. I have a couple of simple pendants which I wear to distract from body flaws. Look here, not there!
 
That pretty much describes me. I used to wear a wedding ring but first I bent one when I was climbing then I lost the replacement (which was a cheap one) when I took it off to climb. My wife and I don't really care about wearing wedding rings. She doesn't have her wedding ring because she burned her hand in a glass blowing accident and they had to cut it off her finger when treating the burn. We never replaced it.

I stopped wearing a watch years ago but sometimes will wear one when I go outdoors climbing to I've to the time easily accessible. I've toyed with getting tattoos but never went through with it. I'm not a necklace or bracelet guy but I did wear puka shells in my mid 20's.

Quite so, and in cold weather a hat acting as a barrier is essential for trapping body heat and reducing heat loss from the head and ears, which is particularly valuable in cold wind. Hats made of materials like wool, cashmere, and fleece are excellent insulators, specifically designed to trap body heat, rather than just providing a stylish look. If hats are an adornment then so are shoes, especially the kind of shoes that I wear:

I’m curious why you have it in a bank safety box? I have a lot of expensive jewelry also. I still wear a few rings, earrings, necklaces and a smart watch. I only take off my rings to shower.

I have given many of my pieces to my DIL and kept others for when my youngest son marries. I also sold a bunch of it.

I once had 3 jewelry boxes filled with gold jewelry, plus late mother-in-law's wedding rings of several carats. My house was broken into, and all were stolen. I should have had most of the pieces in a bank safety deposit box.

Insurance paid me a good sum, but, could not replace the sentimental value.
 
mostly have no adornments in my private life, if that makes sense. At work, I wear a cloth cap, as it identifies my position within the company from a distance. There are around 2,000 people who work there, so many need to recognise my role.

I have no tattoos, and I don’t wear jewellery or rings. The last necklace I wore was at 18—a St Christopher pendant. A girlfriend bought me a heavy gold bracelet two decades ago, which I stopped wearing after the relationship ended. I still have it somewhere, though, as I never felt the need to sell it.

I do own several watches, but I only really wear two of them -- and even then, only occasionally, usually for social occasions or when I’m on holiday. The two I tend to wear are an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean with an orange bezel, or a TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Day-Date Chronograph. I’m not sure why the name has to be so long either.

When someone asks me the the name of the watch on my wrist, they are usually bored by the time I’ve finished saying its name. I don’t blame them.

Why in a bank box? So I don't have to worry about being robbed. It costs me $45 a year, I think. I do take out some pieces for weddings and other fancy parties, but those are few and far between these days.

I've toyed with selling some of it, but would rather leave it to my children and grandchildren. They can work out whether they're comfortable wearing it.

Should I need the money down the line, I'll reconsider my position.

That's interesting. I'm not a person who notices jewelry very much so I always assumed they didn't wear them after high school.

I remember the day in senior year when we were called to the cafeteria to get tne rings. I was the only one who hadn't bought one and the school secretary made a big deal about it and said, "It certainly would be nice for school spirit if everyone had got one!" Heh. 'School spirit.'

My wife's wedding set and other jewelry of value is in a bank safe deposit box. If I had given it to our daughter, she would have pawned it for cash, and I no longer know the whereabouts of my daughter anyway (no current phone or address). My wife's jewelry is of no sentimental value to my cousin who is the Executor of my Will, so he will liquidate for cash the contents of the box. I understand that and have no objection, but I cannot cope with doing it myself, so I just keep it in a safe place.

However, I understand the original question (and the answer) from ladies who have their own jewelry safely put away.

Long ago, I had a co-worker who had a beautiful wedding set of great value. She took it to a jeweler and had it duplicated with a CZ (cubic zirconia) set, which she wore, then she kept the real set in a safe deposit box. That made no sense to me. May as well just have a fake set in the first place and skip the expensive one.
