How many still remember that first kiss?

We were 13 yrs old and he had come for the summer to my house in the town to play baseball. He went to a small school in a smaller town than mine. He rode to town every morning that summer with a man that worked in town. My dad found out he wanted to play baseball and arranged it. I can't remember the first time he kissed me, but there were many more sweet kisses throughout high school. He and his dad rebuilt a 1941 ford and he would drive over to see me even before he got driving license. I went away to a different college but, we remained friends throughout his life. He died last spring. Before he died, he sent me, via internet, He Quit Loving Her Today. He died a few months later of a heart attack. This is a true story.

I remember my first romantic kiss. I was thirteen and I thought it was the most beautiful sensation in the world. I felt like I could fly.

Charlotta----I saw George Jones sing the song, "He Stopped Loving Her Today," which he released in 1980. That was his comeback song. He had disappeared off of the charts for long dry spell until he sang this song. I learned to play it on my harmonica for a local band that needed a backup on weekends for about a year back in 2007.

How sweet but sad.

I have no recollection of it... so it wasn't very memorable is suppose. I am assuming I was 13 because I had my first boyfriend then. I remember his name.. Ron.

Yes, I remember. I was 15, he was 17, and it was my first date. We were on a hayride in rural Pa. I remember thinking "so THIS is what it's like - nice!" We parted ways after high school. I saw him again about 30 years later. A handsome man with a great sense of humor but way too conservative for me.

Hi, Glinda, I hear you. I don't do too well with men who are too conservative either. Love them, but we could not live together, I am far too modern in my view of women for starters!

Yes, a man who favors restricting my rights because I'm female automatically makes himself less attractive to me.

I agree, Glinda and Shalimar, conservative men aren't my cup of tea either (although many are very nice and good looking too) and they seem to have issues with my way of thinking too. Sigh.

I've dated both I take them on how they think individually, still good friends with a couple of ex-beaus that are conservatives, we don't discuss politics, or we would learn to despise each other for stretches of time. Frankly, I prefer someone that isn't at either end of the spectrum. Somehow, I end up with either or. Just once, a moderate would be nice.
