How many tongue piercings do you have?😊

Back in the 1950s, a guy wearing earrings would have kept him out of the service. Today, with studs and peircings on eye brows, lips noses, ears, and tongues, it's hard to even notice earrings. When we were kids, the only people ,who were so decorated, were isolated just discovered backwoods tribes. Now, it's your son-in-law.
What do you think of all the earrings, studs and peircings?
I have no children so don't really care. I think the same as in the 60s and 70s; it's trashy.

Just the standard ear piercing at 16. When my husband passed I fell into a deep hole, just did not care to deal with hair, makeup, clothing or jewelry. My ear piercing grew over and closed.

I went about 4 years ago, to a local tatoo shop to have my ears done again. They had closed but I wanted to be able to wear earings to my son's wedding. They run a special once a week and I was so shocked to see so many young people there. If they were underage they had to have a parent present.. These parents dropped the kid off to stand in line. When they got close to their turn, the child would call the parent up to come and okay the procedure.

Almost all came out crying from the pain of the procedure, they were not doing the standard ear pierce. There where noses, belly buttons, tongues, eyebrows, lips, and some who had additional areas of their ears done.

No tats, and I think the ears may have closed again but I am not worried about it. My son has two tatoos, no peircings. They were not done until he was 18, as I would not give permission.

I have “executive tattoos” invisible under normal clothing, but no piercings. Dealing with the public for over three decades, I found it a bit disconcerting to deal with the ear plugs and septum nose rings that crept in; you wonder where to cast your eyes in conversation. Beyond those are tongue-splitting and facial implants such as ridges and horns, which gratefully I’ve never seen in person…

…and you ladies thought all the good men were taken! 🙀

I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by being old fashioned. I'd not forbid others making their own choices, but I also hold my own views.

Earrings are cool. Other piercings? Nah, though belly-button piercings can look nice. Lips, noses, and tongues? No.

I feel more strongly about tattoo's. I see far too many beautiful people butchered by bad tattoos. I don't have any myself. Women with tattoo's is difficult to deal with. But of course, people should be free to have them if that's their thing. At my age, the world isn't mine any longer, it belongs to younger folk.

Pierced ears only at 13. In my early 20's I had a total of 4 piercings in each ear. Never went through the cartilage. I had some of them re-opened in the late 90's but they may have closed. I really only wear the first ones anymore.

When I was a young girl, I broke my finger and had to have it set at the hospital. The young girl in the bed next to mine was crying. When they pulled the curtain away from her, I saw that she had a bleeding earlobe and the nurse told me one of the children at school had pulled the ring out of her ear, so she was having stitches to repair it. That put me off for life having my ears pierced.
