I'm so sorry to hear that.
I've gone meatless for a while. My ex was a vegetarian.
It's not easy to adjust back to digesting meat, especially if there are other issues.
And animal protein is so "caloric dense."
I had some severe digestive problems a couple of years ago that went unattended to because I lost my health insurance. It got pretty bad. It affected my breathing as well. When I finally got my insurance addressed, I had a CT scan with barium contrast and then a colonoscopy just a few days later (with it's required prep.) The day after my colonoscopy, my digestive issues were gone. I was still achy, but I could also tell that things were better. This was after a year of suffering.
I think those cleansings flushed out some bad bacteria. My gastroenterologist threw the BS flag on that opinion, but he couldn't tell me why things got suddenly better...and he recommended that I take probiotics to repopulate the good bacteria that got flushed out! Nothing was ever discovered from any of those tests...after over a year, I just suddenly "got better."
I hope things get (stay?) manageable for you.
Our bodies are so daggone complex.
