How much outdated electronics do you have around the house?

Do you have a calculator stuffed in a box you haven't used in years? Do you still have a phone with a cord connecting the receiver? How about a radio? VCR? How much outdated electronics do you have around the house?

What!! Everyone doesn't use a calculator? I still have 2 that must be really old and they still work.

Got rid of the VCR when the thrift store was still taking them. I have an old desk phone packed in a box with an answering machine and some other odd items. The thing I seem to collect somehow is extra device power cords, attachments, etc. Sometimes I don't even know what it is for sure but if I throw it out I may need it next week.

I have about 10 calculators, including the first one I ever bought and my first scientific calculator. They all work. And, I have 3 shortwave receivers, 3 VCRs, and a couple Walkmans.

I have more outdated electronics than I care to admit, but in three years or sometimes less, many computerized devices become fossils unable to update or run current programs. I still have cassette players that I’ve lovingly nursed along, learning the more simple repairs to them!

I have a calculator which is almost new. Just bought it last year. I use a boom box for CD's which is fairly new also. My television has a DVD player built in and I watch DVD movies often on it. It was bought in 2019, I think.

I first got interested in amateur radio and electronics back in 1955. I still have the first short wave receiver I owned. I got my ham license in 1959 and started accumulating transmitters, receivers and accessories many of which I still own and still function. Yeah I have a few solid state gizmos hiding around here and there but it is the hollow state (tubes) toys that keep me involved.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa...I used to have alot of that good stuff in the house[rotary dial phone- tape recorder] but my [modern wife]made me get rid of all that fun stuff...I never have any fun...sigh!!!
