How Much Time Do You Spend On The Phone?

I don't use the phone a lot.. Short and necessary conversations with hubby and my family.. I refuse to own a "smart" phone.. I still have my old flop phone which serves my purpose well.

Josiah, the answers on this senior forum are only from seniors, many of them older seniors. The people you see running around with their phones stuck to their ears are younger people with busy lives, hardly older seniors. They use their phones all the time, as we've all seen.

Not much. My stepdad calls daily to check in. I don't like to talk on the phone. I stay in contact with others mostly via e mail. I don't text at this point.

I'll be going on a 3 hour bus journey tomorrow. When I get tired of reading my kindle I'll take a break and get online with my smartphone, checking email, FB, and SF, possibly texting or Whatsapp. I've had a smartphone for about 5 years now and love it. I won't be phoning anyone. I find it annoying when people chat loudly on their phones on buses or trains.

As little as possible. I call my father and brother every Sunday. My husband, on the other hand, loves to talk with his friends and relatives on the phone.

Did I write this?? :D I don't like to talk on the phone and always let it go to voicemail. My hubby talks on the phone all the time; if the children call they know they will talk to "dad".

I spend very little time on the phone, don’t answer at home unless I recognise caller ID, use my mobile only if I have to and speak to my daughter each day on FaceTime

After spending most every working hour on the phone or in a meeting for the last ten years of my working life,
I spend as few minutes as possible.

Usually not a lot of time, mostly reservations and medical appointments, etc. People sometimes call to confirm what time we are meeting or something like that. My children do call about once a week, but mostly we communicate via texting and email. Every once in a while, I'll have a nice, old-fashioned phone chat with a friend.

We have both a land line and our cells. I rarely ise either, though husband is on the phone more at work, but not at home. My cell usage seems limited to texts to and from my husband, and some calls. But I have a Track phone, the pay as you go service. Husbands cell is provided and paid by hus employer. He will have to turn it in when he retires.

None at all.

I let the caller leave a message and my wife screens the messages. This is why I don't carry a cell phone although I have one in my car which has never been used in over 10 years. I don't even know its number!

If I get a message for me, then I'll call back, but I rarely get any messages except when someone calls about an ad I have on Craigslist.

Almost never.
I much prefer texting, except I found out that people think I'm rude when I don't text back immediately, which I only do if I'm having a back and forth conversation with someone.

I guess I must be one of those lazy, morally decayed, degenerates they rest of you make fun of because I use my phone a lot. Sometimes I even talk on it, typically an hour or two or three a week. Calls from/to my son, grandsons, parents, brothers, friends, etc. Just got my new lady friend her own smart phone. (She had an old cheapo flip phone. I asked her to deep six it...)

I also have hearing loss, but my hearings aids sync to my smart phone, so I can actually hear a lot better on the phone than I can in person. Used my phone for an hour this morning on my walk, listen to the Stones, since I have iTunes, and I hear the music thru my hearing aids.

I do get a lot of marketing calls, but if you're not in my contact list, I don't answer.

My maximum average is 5 minutes per month. I detest talking on the phone. Write me a letter, meet me in person, send an email DO NOT CALL ME!

Ha. Everyone sounds like me. I've looked at mine, and see very few minutes. My spouse and I speak rarely. My sons are always in a hurry. I remember the day when I could spend hours on the phone. I love phone calls. Everyone is always in a hurry now days. It's a shame. Gossip can be fun.

I'm old fashioned 😂😂😂 my mobile phone is for important emergency calls, loads of text messages while munchkins were in school and every time hubby went out we texted a lot.

Even though it's an Android device, I peruse the browser to help out my text friends but I don't play any games on it.

As I've a great plan with my provider, I occasionally chat long-distance with longtime friends but as it's now restricted to one hour then the line goes down (which I've not been able to find out what's this and how to change it yet) which is annoying as I know exactly how much it'll cost so my two hours with friends are precious. Lol!

Nowadays, even though TPS exists, all I get are cold spam callers which I cut down quickly but still they're annoying as ...
