I watch very little now. News headlines with breakfast, we follow box set dramas in the evening. On Sundays as we eat our roast we like a nature, history or travel programme. We do ha e Sky and Netflix as my husband likes sports and films of his choice. Sometimes we watch a film together.
Daily I much prefer reading and never watch daytime TV. For me a good book is my essential winding down for a good night's sleep, we do not have a TV in the bedroom.
This is in stark contrast to years ago when I followed every soap! I used be in front of the TV a lot.
I was thinking too about those times gone by when it was the testcard, national anthem and no TV after midnight. I remember when people watched the ten o'clock news and it was bedtime. Have we lost something now? With 24 hour TV stimulation of the mind, endless choice, huge amount of rubbish programmes, could this be contributing to people's insomnia?
