How old do you feel

I think it depends who I am with at any given moment.
Some people can really light me up and others can drain me in a heartbeat.
When I am alone it depends what I am doing. Now pushing that vacuum that
suddenly got 50 lbs heavier somehow...that make me feel older than what I am.

92 year old Carol Burnett did a podcast with Amy Poehler. When Amy asked Miss Carol how old she felt, Carol pondered for a moment and replied 11 years old. I feel like I am 11 years old.

It prompted me to ask the question on this forum, how old do you feel?
You know sometimes I ask myself that question. When I do something that truly over extends my physical abilities, I get it. When I am just going about my daily life I sometimes find something that seems to sneak up on me that I used to do without a second thought that has become a real challenge.

I just picked up a prescription from King Soopers via the drive through. The woman asked me for my birthdate and then she goes "did you say 1937?" No, that would make me 87 years old! 😠

It was probably just an honest mistake. Sometimes my voice is really weak and people have a hard time understanding me, so I guess 1957 could have sounded like 1937.

I think once I had my cancer scare at age of 67, I started feeling my age. Luckily, I had retired a few months just before my cancer scare. And luckily, my operation removed all of it but I do have to go to my oncologist twice a year for five years to make sure it does not come back. I feel 70 years old which is my age.

Weird but once I turned 70 - a few things happened simultaneously : 1) I never had a big belly and now I do, however, I am not overweight at about 123 lbs. at 5 ft 2 inches. I can suck it in my belly to look slimmer. Hubby says if you can suck in your belly than you don't have a big belly. 2) I cannot bend over (stoop) for very long at all. 3) I now have age spots on my arms.

I can still walk the hills in my city and do my housekeeping, etc. so I am very lucky. Also I always challenge myself in doing art, other hobbies, so I'm always learning, so glad that I have all of my mental faculties in order too.

I feel the weight of my years, the wisdom of my scars, and the impatience of a kid waiting for recess. I still sneak snacks at midnight like a 12 year old outlaw. Some days I feel older and wiser, other days I’m young enough to not know any better. Most days I just feel like coffee ... complicated, caffeinated, and still showing up. Amen

Once I told my grandson that mentally, I feel the same as I always have, since I became an adult. But physically I'm pretty much falling apart.

His reply was, "Well, that's probably better than the other way around!" I guess he's right.
