How tall are you?

That's an issue for petite me at 5 ft and I wondered why I stopped growing. My mom was 5'5" and dad was 5'10" so it must go back a bit. My aunt was also 5 ft.

My daughters are the same height as I am and their dad is 5'9"....(and from another post...he's not the unfaithful one. I have been married twice. There can be other deal breakers other than cheating, as we all know.) But one of my petite lil daughters married a man 6'5". We're talking seriously Mutt & Jeff. The g'kids are still growing and I have "high" hopes. G'daughter is average height but, thank God, has long legs & a long torso that her mom & I would have killed for. G'son is average in height. It could have gone either way, but thank goodness her tall husband ended the reign of the really short people in our family. And ya love 'em to death no matter what shape, size or description they come in, don't you know?

I still swear by good things come in small packages.

I was 5' 11 1/2" but I grown a lot taller in recent years.

I used to be able to reach down and pick something up from the floor but lately I'm so tall I can't come close to picking anything off the floor.:aargh:

Yeah, RK, that's my problem in bending over too, just too darned tall!!:playful:

I used to give my height as sixtyone and a half inches to make it sound taller. As my mother was only four foot ten and a half inches I don't suppose that I had any hope of being tall. Hubby is just on 6 ft.

We mustn't make the mistake of thinking that short stature correlates with any lack of courage. My mum was game as Ned Kelly (google and include the siege at Glenrowan) and I'm not afraid of very much either. We have a young woman employed as director of the church child care centre and she is the same height as the pre-schoolers and she is a tower of strength and courage.

I'm 4'11, and used to hate being short, but it's not a problem anymore....except when I try to reach things that I can't....stepstools are a must in this house. :p

I was always the tallest in the class, reached full height of 5'9" at about 12. It's a pain in the proverbial! The only advantage was being able to keep my nose above BO level on a crowded train. You are forever pestered in supermarkets to reach things down for 'shorties'. You are expected to be stronger than you are just because you're taller. Clothes that fit are harder to find and cost MORE! You look silly in high heels unless you're built like a supermodel. It's really hard to find a man taller than you, and that was my preference. Your back starts aching years before shorter peoples'. If you stand straight you're thought to be 'looking down your nose', if you stoop you appear condescending. Can't win.

5'9'' isn't unusually tall, my cousin is 5'11" but she's better built than I was and carries it off beautifully. My mother was 5'9" and Dad was 5'11' so I ran true to form.

But the problem is being solved, I'm getting shorter. Mum ended up just 5'3" due to osteoporosis and I'm heading the same way. Now it's a bugger that I can't reach the stuff I stored in the top cupboards when I need them. Never satisfied are we??

I'm 5foot 11inches, my wife 5 foot 1 inch, Our sons, eldest 6foot 4 inches, younger 6foot 1 inch.
You wouldn't think a petite Irish lass would have two six footers.:)

I was 5ft 3 and first hubby just 5ft 4, but in later years when measured for whatever reasons I am under 5ft 2 now, second hubby is 5ft 9. Annoying sometimes as I nearly always had to spend time making trousers shorter for them and myself all of us always being a little chubby in places.

I'm 5'7" but my Dad and two brothers are 6'5" and my Mom is 5'1" (maybe). My daughter is the same height as me and my son is 6'2". Their father is about 5'8" and hated it when I wore 5" heels in my younger days. I think I did it just to *iss him off! hahaha
