How well did you sleep last night?

I have an app where I log my sleep, how long, how well and all the factors that affected it.

I thought it might be nice to share some of those things with each other.

Last night, I didn't get to bed until later than I wanted. I found a new tv show that I was excited about that had my attention.
I got up a bit tired but still felt OK considering I got less sleep.

How about you? How was your sleep last night?

I never have sleep problems and usually get up at 5 AM, but lately I realized I need more sleep and have been able, for the first time in my life, to take a few naps. I had a regular med appt. Tuesday and my PCP doctor was glad to hear that.

I get concerned that I wont have everything done, when I die. That is unrealistic!

But I already have a death file for my daughter, and still need to add more info to it. It gives me Peace of mind.

As I fell asleep last night , my EMT/Police/ Fire scanner went off, and someone I have known for decades was taken to the hospital, with trouble breathing. I did get fully awake when I heard that, and the ambulance barn is just a block away from her home. But it took time for them to get there as they needed PPE, in case it was COVID.

It is still around, 2 of my neighbors had Covid recently and also a senior at my church. We have the same PCP doctor and she got a shot that made the COVID bearable but exhausting.

It's become terrible, just the way my mother described it at my age. Up every two hours to pee. It started when I changed BP meds to include a "water" pill, but then I switched my meds back but still have the problem. My cats help me get back to sleep by climbing all over me, that is so comforting. Haven't slept through the night in months. I'm exhausted.

Woke abruptly and completely in the middle of the night. After a while I got a couple more hours of good sleep though. Not a typical pattern, perhaps there was some loud sharp noise I couldn't process in slow-wave sleep.

Interesting: Physiology, Sleep Stages - StatPearls - NCBI Bookshelf.
Although this stage has the greatest arousal threshold, if someone is awoken during this stage, they will have a transient phase of mental fogginess, known as sleep inertia. Cognitive testing shows that individuals awakened during this stage tend to have moderately impaired mental performance for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
So maybe I wasn't in N3. Because the waking symptoms were quite different from the above.

I'm familiar with "sleep inertia" and call me crazy but I actually enjoy that.

Unfortunately I do not have sleep cycles anymore. The longest I can stay asleep is about 3 hours, because I have Peripheral Neuropathy. The pain reaches about 8-9 after about 3 hours. I have to get up and take some medicine to get to sleep again if possible. I have to nap for about 2 hours in the day. That is followed by about a 3 hour battle with pain. I am learning to live this new type of existence. Sometimes it is not fun at all. I am starting to wonder if I need to have my neck reevaluated. Last time the neurologists said I didn't need surgery. It has progressed since then. I will ask my doctor soon.

I went to our local high school spring play last night and got home around 10pm. After getting ready for bed, I fell asleep around 11pm. For the first time in ages, I slept soundly until 7:30 this morning. Very unusual, yet pleasant. Even the dog did not wake me up. That was strange, but I guess she was tired too.

Sleeping through the night is a thing of the past. A fond memory. 😏

i finally got 8 hours of sleep. it only took 4 days but whatever. I'll take what i can get.

I slept poorly last night. Right before bed, I found out that the library changed my expiration date on my library card, so it didn't work online. Having talked to people at that library for years, I knew it was going to be a harrowing ordeal. It was.

It took a long time to get to sleep, and my sleep was fitful. Got a nap in later during the day.

had a terrible nite of sleeping....first the dang rash which is
everpresent now was driving me nuts, had to get up and lather
down the areas of most trouble, then of course pain and aches...
took awhile to get to sleepm, and then staying asleep was
a problem...ah well....
