How well did you sleep last night?

had a terrible nite of sleeping....first the dang rash which is
everpresent now was driving me nuts, had to get up and lather
down the areas of most trouble, then of course pain and aches...
took awhile to get to sleepm, and then staying asleep was
a problem...ah well....
sounds rough. Do you know what the rash is?

I rarely get a decent night of sleep. It's been this way most of my life. I've tried different sleep aides and nothing really helps. I'm not stressed about it. Every so often I will sleep 10 hours, maybe once a month. Occasionally I will nap for an hour during the day. I don't feel over tired so it's not a big deal.

I slept exceptionally well last night. I usually sleep pretty well-especially compared to DH who barely sleeps at all. But yesterday our youngest daughter and SIL drove up from California to get one of their company trucks inspected in order to register it here in Idaho. Much less expensive(168.00 including transfer fee compared to 890.00 in CA) They are gradually transferring everything to Idaho as he is licensed here as well and they eventually plan to move here.

Anyway,my daughter`s all time favorite meal is Beef Stroganoff-specifically my Beef Stroganoff-so when we were in CA last month for her and her sister`s birthdays I told her that next time she was here I would make her some. So I grocery shopped in the a.m. and spent the afternoon cooking so we could eat relatively early as they needed to get some sleep before hitting the road at 5 a.m. today.

Oldest daughter and SIL came over too so the 6 of us had a great time-a short visit but lots of laughs and good conversation. But I was beat and slept like a log! Can`t believe that just a few years ago(3or4) I would cook a huge dinner every single Sunday for all the kids, their spouses, the grandkids and always a friend or two or three or four. Doesn`t take long to get out of practice lol!

lol. I make so many typoes .
Obviously not proof reading. 💁🏼‍♀️
Don't feel bad, I make them too... especially when not quite awake.

I was a freelance magazine & newspaper journalist for 25 years. With most articles, I did three drafts. First was a content draft with many flaws. Second one was a refinement of content & structure. Though that included attempts to eliminate misspellings & typos, it was only on the third draft that usually I caught & corrected most of them. sigh

I’d just woken up. lol.
When I was younger, I considered journalism. My husband often says I could write a good book.

Did you work from home?
What’s your most interesting work?

My brother became a type of journalist. They once sent him to Algonquin park to study chickadees.

I had a nightmare when someone got up to go pee and left the bathroom light glaring. But I didn't let a bad occurrence turn into a bad night. When I settled my mind down, I began to think of things I'd like to do in life. Fun stuff and no limitations. This really helped me calm my way back into sleep with no further issues.

Patty, not wishing to divert/hijack this thread, I can message (start a "conversation").

Sleeping while writing? Taking a break from sleeping to post?
Heh
We've developed a bit of a sleep routine
Discovered it upon retirement

First day
got up early as usual
Made coffee
ate
Heard the neighbor's cars warming up
Thought.....(whut am I doing?!)

Slipped back into bed
giggling myself to sleep

We now have what I call 'the 2nd sleep'

It rocks so hard, I seldom miss it

Whenever I get up, (of which is usually abnormally early)
I make coffee
Get on the web (here a lot)
Fuss a bit with the budget
Do some writing (I'm a word butcher)

get re-sleepy

then

stumble back to bed.....sweet beddy bye

It's the only sleep that comes calling with complete consciousness
softly drifting...drifting into sweet sweet slumber
snort myself awake.....open one eye.....turn the pillow
drift back....waaaay back

......droolinga river

I highly recommend it

Wait.....

here it comes again

lay-Z-boy is tilted back

I've been fed

lights are off

TV is on (who cares)

Daylight savings time translation: Tired for a week.

I woke up around 6 times between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Got up. Now what am I going to do? Probably filing papers and finding things I can't find in the process. I'm a bit tired, and will probably take a nap later, when my body remembers it still needs sleep. This is not usual, and I am not anxious or worried about anything dire, so it is what it is.

That 15 hour sleep might catch up with me, but it hasn't for the past 3 nights. I got another 6 hours sleep, only waking up because the neighbor was working on the yard.
