Humans and Dinosaurs

I was taken slightly aback when the adult Bible study leader said that he believed that humans and dinosaurs existed together at one time. I didn't want to make too harsh a statement against that (everyone is entitled to their beliefs), so I said. "Well, 'The Flintstones' proved that." I thought it might evoke a few snickers from the class, but all I got was a few heads that snapped around with harsh glares. Either they didn't want to overtly disagree with the group leader, or they really believe this. We are taught in school that the dinosaurs became extinct eons before humans appeared on the scene.

People forget that dinosaurs ruled Earth for millions of years. Why is the bible study teacher talking dinosaurs? I thought Adam & Eve came after the Earth was built in six days.

I saw a documentary about the little ground squirrels (not sure what they are called) that survived the end of the dinosaurs because they live underground. The fires did not kill off the dinosaurs rather the smoke that covered the Earth lowering the temperatures as it blocked out the Sun.

Thus the phrase God works in mysterious ways.

God is given credit for the earth being built in six days & earth is supposed to be about 13 billion years old. Why did those creatures exist then wipe out a significant amount then repopulate the earth with creatures tiny enough to fit thousands on an ark?

Really puzzling is the made in our image proclamation in the bible. Who is the OUR & were they butt ugly as the remains of prehistoric man show to be?

IMO it's a difference between science/evolution and the creation timeline in Genesis.

If you believe that God created the animals and man on the sixth day then he must have created the dinosaurs along with the rest of the animals and the Flintstones.

Well, I think you can believe in both timelines, just saying.
