Two thousand years ago, people flocked to the Roman arenas. They went there just to see violence, not only to animals but to human beings. They were extremely ingenious in the varied ways that they slaughtered people and animals; the more violence, the better.
Now, of course, we are all much more civilized. Yeah?
Why do people love boxing? Simply because it is two people knocking the seven stages of poo out of each other.
Why is motorcycle and motorcar racing so popular? Why are the corners of the tracks the most popular places to be? Because that is where the accidents are.
Why do many countries love their bull fighting?
Even though it is mostly under cover, dog fighting and cock fighting still draws the crowds.
The list goes on and on.....
There are dozens - I'll say that again, dozens of wars going on right now around the world.
Everyday, tens of thousands of people are being killed.
Meanwhile, the 'civilized' countries such as the United States, Great Britain, Russia, France, China, etc. are trading weapons to under-developed countries enabling them to kill more.
Do you know one of the most Googled subjects? It is of snipers shooting people. Look it up for yourself. There are thousands of videos there, and they are very, very popular.
Mankind has not changed very much in the last two thousand years. We are still basically very violent.
We don't just hunt for meat on the table, we hunt for the enjoyment of killing.
We relish in forcing our superiority by gunfire.
We 'oldies' often have seen warfare close up, and are appalled at the horrors of it all.
Sadly, there are millions of the younger generations who still find glory in the gory.
... ask any Schwarzenegger fan.
