Hungry But Little To Eat-What To Do!

Back in my college days when I scrounged for food at times and had to be creative I found myself with not much to eat yesterday so I reverted back to the "Days of Lean Cupboards". I found a frozen a raw burger patty, a slice of cheddar cheese, two red potatoes and some leaf spinach. I boiled the potatoes the peeled and mashed them, stir fried the spinach and chopped up the burger and fried it as well. Mixed it all together and added the cheese and Ureka! It was good and nutritious and I will make it again soon. Try it sometime.

NOTE: I don't keep much in the icebox during the middle of hurricane season because I don't want to lose a full fridge of food for the lack of power.

Thankfully, the weather man today said there was NOTHING out there anywhere!! This time last year I had water in my condo from Harvey. My fridge is full right now and will stay that way until something is out there to be concerned about. Then I will eat it, give it away or throw it away. I always keep water, peanut butter and crackers on hand in case that time comes.

Remember that African dust that covered Texas several weeks ago ?

Experts say it cools the ocean preventing hurricanes.

I keep freezer contents trimmed during hurricane season as well. Your ingredients with the addition of an egg would have also made a great frittata.

Your "little to eat" sounds like a full meal at our house.

That fits with what i heard one of our weathermen say Friday. The Gulf is warm but the Atlantic is cooler than normal. The peak of the season is mid Sept.
