I am not seeing this in my area (yet). Prices seem to be about the same. Eggs were 50 cents a dozen today. Beef is high but has been for about a year. Pork and chicken are about the same as the last few months.

50 cents a dozen ? ...we pay around £2.00 a dozen... (approx $2.79 US)

Prices around here seem to vary a lot from store to store. I was pleasantly surprised recently when I went to a Whole Foods, previously known for its high prices (though excellent quality food), to see that many of their prices were actually below those of Giant and Safeway! I think Amazon owns Whole Foods now, and maybe that's the reason for the price reduction.

You're lucky. Nearest whole Foods to me... 120 miles or 170 miles. No Safeway at all in the state, and a Giant store 82 miles away. Sometimes there are disadvantages to remote living.

We only have 7 whole Foods stores in the whole of the UK.. and all are in Central London

With Amazon Prime, I've been getting home delivered fresh food since they have taken over Whole Foods.
Prices are surprisingly low, compared to many other local food chains. And top quality and organic too.

Their produce is top-notch. Best strawberries I've had in years. And they were only $3.49 for a good-size box!
