I’m so happy to have friends here.

This friendly forum is one of the reasons I joined 2 yrs ago, though it feels like I've been here longer
I like that some members are from around the world ,,to get a different perspective on any topic
I do feel we are like an 'extended family',if some one hasn't posted here in awhile,we all get concerned hoping the person is ok
We can agree or disagree on any topic but we don't become mean spirited about it.If we do Matrix can boot us off for a 'time out'

To every one of you who responded to my question above, thank you very much for doing that!
It is very welcoming and is encouraging for me, and I hope to get to know many of you.

Could you give me some suggestions of friendly spots on this forum, for me to interact a bit more?

I do plan to write an Intro, but people often cannot read all the posts on the Intro threads, or maybe they do, here on this site?

I, for one, read the intros, I'm just disappointed that too many new posters do not do post intros and post nothing more about themselves on their profiles. That's a big change I've noticed in this new format.

Kaila, probably the best way to find good spots is to just browse through the forum, looking at any topics that might interest you. I personally like the Games topic a lot. We have a lot of fun with word games, etc. You might try that one.

What part of the world are you from? (Just curious, you don't have to answer.)

@Keesha
Your mushy post, and the equally mushy responses to it, :ROFLMAO:

caused me to join in, and to get some nice replies, so I am now in the group, and no one told me, or warned me ,
you play the sax , as loud as you do, or sing and laugh,

though I think that would not have caused me to not join. :)

It's nice to meet you! 🎷

Well I’m so happy you joined. It’s a pleasure to have you.

There ARE equally mushy responses. It’s amazing what happens when you open up your heart.
Such a pleasant surprise. ❤️

You and I aren’t far away. That’s interesting
Keesha, my mom's best friend played the sax professionally...she used to go on a lot of cruise ships. She was only around 5 ft tall and when she was blowing her horn you couldn't hardly see her behind that big brass instrument...brings back great memories. She always used to have to diet to go on the trips as she would inevitably gain weight on the ships.

Awwww.... she must have played the tenor or baritone sax then. Probably a tenor. My saxophones are alto and soprano so they aren’t nearly as big. Plus I’m 5’7” so there’s no hiding. Lol

She sounds like she had a lot of fun. I could t do the cruise ship thing. Too many people and no place to hide. Lol

Here are my saxophones.

Love the sound of a sax. Mom always talked about Boots Randolph...she met him and heard him play in a New Orleans club one week. To me, that sound is so multidimensional an throaty. How long have you been playing?

That’s so cool. I truly enjoy live performances.
Saxophone is very versatile. It’s played in jazz, classical, rock, pop, country, ballads etc.

I got my first saxophone in 1973 and it’s an alto.
It was made in 1953 so was 20 years old and I was the second owner. It’s an SML model which is a cross between a Selmer and a Conn. Some saxophone makers left Selmer and hooked up with some Conn saxophone makers to produce the SML brand so its 66 years old. It’s considered an antique in saxophone terms.

My soprano I just got last December and I LOVE it more than the alto. It’s a Yamaha YSS 475.
The tone is so clear and smooth that I can actually give myself goosebumps. Getting this new instrument sparked up my music enthusiasm so I’m constantly either singing, dancing , playing or listening to music.
It’s all good. I don’t think my neighbours mind.
I’m quite considerate about the times I play and have a regular routine so as not to wake anyone up or try not to.

While caring for my dad he did tell me that he really enjoyed my playing. He’s fairly deaf so was surprised that he could even hear me but he really surprised me one day when I was singing downstairs.

He said that while he enjoyed my singing, could I please stop because he was trying to call my mom and couldn’t hear. 🤔😂🥴

Hey, gal, you could be my neighbor anytime. You might have trouble keeping time with "Dagnee" the weepy Irish Wolfhound that howls when "her people" let her outside. She thinks she's a human, and she's big enough to be a pony!

I love ALL dogs. ❤️
