I am confused..Can we believe anything we want, and then act like it is real?

There are a lot of examples of this both on a small scale or on a large scale. Due to wireless local and global communication almost anything is possible to begin to believe in, or reject ( usually because of our personal confirmation bias ). This video is symbolic of how confident we can become over convincing our selves of our reality, when in fact it is possibly/probably a fantasy. What do you think is she really what she says she is?

Of course, we can, it's when the reality of the world we live in and keep in mind that each one of us has a unique map of our own reality and Universe is when we might start to doubt our own beliefs.
As with everything, we all must obey the standard ethics that has become law where we live.
It makes no difference what we believe of our own self, it's the environment and laws that challenge our own beliefs.

I can't take anyone seriously who has a ring in her nose. It's like she occasionally gets tied to a fence post. So I just listened, not watching and she sounds nuts to me. Oy.
Same here. I took one look at her with all the piercings and tattoos and just went YUCK! and closed the window. Anybody that intentionally makes herself look so repulsive isn't worth listening to.

I don't think I have had a firm grasp of what is real since my Mother died when I was 13. When I became a born again Christian is probably the most convinced . But that faded in 10 years. In middle age I worked at keeping my reality together, but never was totally convinced.

I that seems to resonate with me. Are you saying that doubting our constructed reality is not productive for us? How does one know for sure that we aren't totally fooling ourselves and resisting a more complex reality that the one we cling to?

Oh yea, Time just announced that Elon Musk is their "Man of the Year". WOW, talk about making up your own reality, and having a ton of money to convince others that there is really something to it. How do we know that his projects t, that cost billions to make are really beneficial?

If you believe something to be real shouldn't you investigate what you believe first before deciding for sure that it's real? The lady in the video thinks something else is driving her car. Let go of the steering wheel and move over to the passenger seat then. Of course she won't do it citing some reason why her guides won't allow her to do that. Blah.

I remember that I was a talented athlete in my youth. I got a lot of accolades from others especially my parents. I thought I would become a professional pitcher. But that faded. Then a guitarist/musician...that has faded. The one thing that hasn't faded is my search for "what is this existence about?" Sometimes I wonder if what I am has been fated by genetics and environment, like a flower or tree or animal. It might not be in our control. Many people think that they can change that hard wiring to "create your own reality". I am stuck in the middle of that ideology.

Yep, Nathan hit the nail square on the head.

The character in the video is delusional, and it would take years of brainwashing (psych therapy) to convince her that what she believes is real isn't real.
I know it is not provable, and that is how conspiracy theories emerge. But, that which was conspiracy, has turned out to be closer to the truth. In fact, that almost is always is the case. The most dramatic being the fate of Galileo understanding that the Sun is the center of our solar system. They killed him for it. Those that think outside the box are often ridiculed and live on the fringe of society. The "Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky is another example. It was received as a SHOCK at the time, but led to composers taking chances, and thinking in new ways about making music.
What if she is what she says she is, and that aliens have been with us and "in" us for quite some time. In my quest for finding out what this existence is about I have come across many theories that are outside the popular/scientific explanations. There seems to be several common threads about this. We are spirits, we are made in the image of God ( invisible ), when your mind is concentrated on the divine you integrate with universe as it is, and it involves transformation...a few examples. Could there be a preponderance of evidence that we are the universe and it is far to complex to understand it with our reasoning? She is manifesting this just like yogi's, born again Christians or beleivers in general, who have very full lives because of their convictions.
