I am done buying clothes.

I don't have many; 12 tops (t-shirts, blouses & sweaters) 2 coats, 2 jeans, 3 black pants, 1 white pants, 2 pajama sets and 1 black dress.
I'll replace socks and underwear, but that's it, the rest will have to see me out.

I've tried. I've shopped the few stores in this town and they have a few skimpy things for teens, nothing I can wear.

So I ordered on line three times last year and it either was damaged or didn't fit and had to be returned.
This last time I decided to get serious, bite the bullet, and get some clothes! I ordered a bunch of things from the same store, shoes, dresses, slacks and tops, pajamas, even a purse and two coats. That was April 15th. The money left the account right away but nothing has been delivered. I quit.

tell me what size you are, I'm bound to have some things here that will fit you...:D

It seems you have to find a store that has clothes that fit and in your style and stick with them.
I like the Talbots Outlet and Belk is a southern Dept store. They have petite sizes.
I recently found some cute t-shirts at JC penney. I'm short and it seems harder to find stores that carry that size category.
We don't have too many choices close by. No Kohls.

I'm sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with online shopping.
It can be really disappointing when orders don't arrive as expected. Have you tried contacting the store's customer service for an update on your order?

Bless you Holly. I'm not worthy of your hand-me-downs. My ten dollar shoes would never work. Also I'm too fat for them. Thank you though.

They don't seem to actually exist. It was some store I'd never heard of, but the prices were low so I went for it. Now when I Google the name I get nothing. I do believe I've been scammed.

I'm not sad about the lost money, it wasn't much, it's just that I still don't have any clothes.

I really am done trying for a while at least. I like living in my jammies in this hot weather.

I buy from Amazon and have found nice tops in particular. Sometimes I need to return but it is made fairly easy these days.
I am just not able to browse shops for hours as I used to. Supermarket clothes are good actually too.
I rarely buy clothes from a Supermarket. It's all very well buying something plain..like a t-shirt etc.. but anything with any kind of pattern then you're gonna see lots of people wearing the same thing... I learned my lesson with that after buying a striped top from F&F... and one day thankfully I wasn't wearing it.. but that day within just an hour I walked past 3 separate women wearing that same top

I find comfortable styles and stick with them so my daily clothing choices have become almost a uniform. In 75°+ plus temps I wear my JCP and Kohls skorts. They fall a couple inches above my knees (already know my size). I pair them with a short sleeve or sleeveless tee. Cooler weather means jeans or stretchy full length pants (not leggings, capris or ankle pants) and a long or short sleeve tee plus cardigan sweater or sweatshirt, as needed.
At my age and washerwoman arms it's a big turnoff.
LOL I call them lunch-lady arms
As for crepey upper arms, I avoided wearing my sleeveless shirts for several years, but my attitude changed when I went to Maui last October.

It was a parade of men & women of every age and body type unashamedly wearing whatever they damn well pleased. Beer bellies paired with bandy legs, chubby thighs along with stomach rolls. Wobbly, crepey, sun damaged arm and leg skin, thong bikinis with um, ample, cellulite-ridden butts on full display, plenty of faded tattoos, etc., etc., etc. were on exhibition. Guess what? Nobody cared. By the time we were there 24 hours we barely noticed.

I resolved to stop worrying about it and have worn sleevless tops with abandon ever since. If my wrinkly arm skin offends someone, they can either get over themselves or cast their eyes elsewhere.

It's a very freeing attitude that I highly recommend.

p.s. Just did a quick look-see in my closet. At least 15 skorts that I've accumulated over the past ten years of so, and roughly 25 short sleeve and sleeveless tees.

When I worked for a Fortune 500 company we had a dress code and I had a ton of beautiful skirts, sweaters, dresses, shoes, coats, etc. You get the idea. Now, I hardly have any decent clothes. Not that I couldn't have bought some over the years but I'm too cheap. I've given the word "frugal" new meaning (cheap). For example, I have a threadbare sweatshirt that I still wear in the winter that I bought when we retired in 2001. It's just getting broke in...haha.

I use to love to shop for clothes but when styles and sizes started getting weird, I refused to spend money on things I didn't like.

Speaking of stores, our Penney's is being torn down (as well as the rest of the mall it's been in for many years) and a "developer" is putting in who-knows-what??? The only other store to buy clothes at, besides Walmart, is Kohl's and I won't shop there for personal reasons.

I hear you, @Della, and I wholeheartedly agree. Buying clothing, or, I should say, trying to buy clothing, is a nightmare. Sizing hasn't been standardized since the 1940s, so it's all over the place. Different companies use different sizes, and stuff from China has ridiculous sizes. Not to mention, just about everything you find now has paper-thin fabric. Just shoot me now. It would be less painful than trying to find good-quality clothing that actually fits. 🥴 🔫

I always check Trustpilot and other review sites before I buy anything from an online company I've never ordered from before and/or never heard of. Nine times out of ten, the reviews are terrible. I also check the company site for their shipping and return policy and their contact information to see if they have an actual address or just an email.

LOL I call them lunch-lady arms. Oh the cultural differences.
it annoys me that in places where they sell clothing predominantly for the older lady that it's very rare to find a dress that is suitable for summer, but is not sleeveless or short sleeves.. Why don't designers and manufacturers know that most women after a certain age don't want to show off fat or wrinkly or wobbly upper arms.. and design and make more dresses, T-shirts and blouses with 3/4 sleeves... for women over 50...without them looking like they've been designed for a 100 year old dead person...

Shopping for clothing online is a hit or miss for me. Maybe half the time it will fit?
I usually go with Amazon I trust it will at least arrive. My last order from Walmart was a miss. Shorts that were huge on me I don’t think I will be able to wear them and I find returning anything too much s hassle Maybe I can shrink them In a hot washer and dryer
