Harry Wales?
You may know him better as Prince Harry who served in Afghanistan as Harry Wales.
This wek I watched the opening ceremony to the Invictus Games in Toronto and if this young man does nothing else in his life, these games, and the spirit that they encourage, will be a sufficient legacy.
When he was younger I thought him a bit of an upper class twit but now that I see what his values are I have changed my mind. I see someone with a zest for life, who enjoys being alive and wants others to live their lives to the full too. He has used his position of privilege to help create a space where injured war veterans from all over the globe can find new meaning in life after being physically or mentally injured in service of their country.
What brought this rush of love for the prince? Watch this video.

Cute, eh?

The 2018 Invictus Games will be held in Sydney and I am thinking that I would like to attend. This is uncharacteristic of me. When the 2000 Olympics took place over here, hubby and I fled the country. This time I feel duty bound to support.

“We had three key criteria. First, it had to be an iconic city – somewhere known the world over. Second, it needed to be a city with a proud military heritage, which would welcome competitors from all over the world with open arms. And finally, we wanted to go somewhere where they are absolutely sports mad and would really get behind our competitors. It was an easy decision really – the 2018 Invictus Games are coming to Sydney.”Prince Harry
