I Am Finally Getting the Social Security Scam Calls Everyone Talks About

Yesterday and today the social security calls started. What is funny is the first one was a lady that sounded very old foreign and like she had been hitting the brandy shortly before reporting to work. The second sounded exactly like the voice of a youtube video I watched a couple weeks ago. You would think a scammer could find better talent if they are trying to rob people of their money over the phone!!

Just in case you did not see this on the news yesterday 05/07/09 there is a new scam where they call you and hang up after one ring hoping you will call the number so don't call it back.

I heard about this scam call on the news also. I wouldn't call them back even if I hadn't heard about how the scam works.

My favorite scammer with a heavy accent is "Kevin," who is calling from the IRS to tell me that the police are on their way to my house to arrest me. Kevin must be from the Spanish-speaking part of Ireland.

The "IRS" is an American institution. I don't believe scammers would leave the rest of the globe alone. Who do scammers in the UK, OZ, CA, Euro. use? Anybody know.
And really, you mean, we've even out sourced our American scammers. It's cheaper to hire foreign scammers than American?

That would be an excellent answer to give these scammers, fuzzy. "Sorry, I don't deal with the outsourced segment of the scammer providers. Give me a red-blooded, all-American scammer, or don't bother
calling!"

I just got my first one ring and hang up scam call. DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER.
