I agree with you 100 percent. 😎 Your post in fact is quite innocuous and not deserving of the attack that resulted 😡 -- which proves what you said. I've always been supporting of people making their own decisions in their lives, and likewise us being able to make our own decisions for ourselves in our lives, so everyone can live our lives as we choose - as long as people are not violating others by trying to push their beliefs and lifestyles onto others - but that's unfortunately what has been happening way too much in recent times and which I don't agree with. (n)

The poster who attacked you has done the same thing toward others, <-- check his posts, for example several times toward me including this latest one <-- falsely accusing me of attacking him, when I've never made even one comment about him, and suggesting that I off myself from the planet. He also constantly attacks people who don't get shot with the poisons. In contrast I've always said it should be everyone's free choice to make and have never attacked anyone for getting the shots.

There should be very little tolerance for people like him who make such hateful and vicious attacks toward others.

That's absurd. No one attacked her. We have gay people using this site too and they have every right to be unmaligned. She was asked for clarification, maybe, but no one has attacked anyone. You must have a low threshold of uncertainty to be feeling picked on.

As an extreme example, would it be okay for a racist to spew without comment? After all, aren't they entitled to their own, precious opinions?
 
The TV graphic sexual situations grose me out. Its time to change the channel. Lately I wondered what it be like if Bill and Bob who were both male and gay for each other went to a family reunion with Bills parents Ray and Ronnie who were both gay for each other and male.

I fight battles for others — even if it's a risk to my personal safety. I'm fearless when it comes to defending friends.

When it comes to defending myself, that's a different story. I'm a complete coward. It must be related to low self-esteem or something that makes me not feel worthy of being defended.

So many relevant posts, let me add my 2 cents: I have been in many interracial relationships since my late teens, so that's not even an issue with me. My son is gay, and his partner is Taiwanese. They recently announced their engagement- I am thrilled.

It only bothers me when it's really obvious and not pertinent to the story. Same with interjecting racial stereotypes. When something takes you 'out of the experience' because it's a token thing and forced, I don't think there's a benefit for the group represented. As for movies and fiction that feature characters outside of 'mainstream'--whatever that is for the viewer--that are central to the story, that's completely different and are enjoyable if the art is well done overall.

Forums are a place we we can all express our personal views and as long as we do not attack individual members then we should be able to express those opinions without being attacked.
