I am thinking that we hearing way too much doom and gloom. Man's worst enemy is himself. Time to show some other stuff.

I know a couple not far from me, for years now he has quietly been busy helping others. Delivering fire wood when needed to those in need, cutting a fallen tree into stumps and leaving it by the road. He is close to 70 and older than many he helps out. Just a taste of what the two of them do.
Another sneaks over to a neighbors and fills his wood box. The neighbor is in his 80's severely crusty.
A third showed something I never saw before, he helped out someone that was in a dangerous position during a winter storm. The surprise, both of these despise each other.
There it is, some nice stuff. How many of you know of things like this???😇

:devilish::ROFLMAO:

I don't mean to brag, but my boyfriend is one of those people. He does so many things for other people and not just family. Last week he drove a woman he knows to Philadelphia to buy a truck. She found one on the fb marketplace and had the people hold it for her but needed someone to take her there. He was gone the whole day and came back home around midnight. She is a widow and had no one to take her.

before serious downsizing, had a CRAZY, GOOD neighbor. if it snowed, he rolled his "toy" (snow blower) out and didi entire sidewalk on our circle. if he saw me with a shovel, he'd yell at me... i'd never do anything but the fluffy, powdery stuff. he'd send his teen boys over to clear my driveway and wouldn't let them take any $$. i bought a bunch of Wawa gift cards before snow season started!

Don't you just Love him more for that.....and how proud you must be to call him your boyfriend. 🌺

I remember back when cellphones were only just becoming commonplace, and I hadn't bought my first such phone, I broke down when the head gasket on my car went, a quite spectacularly smoke started bellowing from under the bonnet, as some engine oil got burned off, (apparently I was less at risk than I imagined at the time).
A young couple stopped on this fairly remote country road, called the Automobile Association for me, and wanted to run me home, or stay till they got there.

Maybe a relatively small act of kindness, but very welcome obviously, and I must admit I might not have been so helpful to a stranger in similar circumstances, (and the company I worked for forbade us from picking up hitchhikers or anyone, because of the risk they might pose, even back then, thirty or forty years ago).

Never heard of Wawa stores before, apparently they're just on the East coast? What kind of store are they?

My husband has always been the one who did everything for our neighbors.If it snowed he shoveled all the pavements. If someone needed anything from the store he would go shopping for them. I thought things would change because of our age and the fact that we moved, but it hasn't. He is still the go to it guy.

I'm thankful for the folks that have been delivering my groceries for the past year. Without them I would've had to face more exposure to covid. I think it's nice that there are people willing to help out in times of trouble.
Living in a small place I see all the same faces working in the store...I make sure I thank them each and every time I go through.

My neighbors, me too, often help each other out when we need something, help with shoveling snow, etc. Even at the park, for many years I've seen lots of warm folks and acts of kindness. I've chatted with total strangers that shared they were upset because something bad just happened, like they lost their beloved dog, etc. Natural to lend them an ear, give them some comfort and a warm hug. People are basically very good and considerate....life is good, glad I'm still around to enjoy it. 🌷

Never heard of Wawa stores before, apparently they're just on the Easteriously!? (joking) never heard of Wawa. it's a convenience store chain that started in the SE corner of PA from an actual dairy. originally a true convenience store... MILK, bread, eggs, not much more. the dairy was a very popular "field trip" destination for school trips. at that time, we (little kids) could walk right up and pet the cows as they were being hooked up to milking machines. first store in 1964 in Folsom, PA (delaware county). they recently opened their first drive-thru store. they have really good coffee... beans or ground available in most area supermarkets.

and Wawa (supposedly) means "wild goose"... who knows... advertising!
