I am upset because I am unable to follow up information reported in Melbourne Australia where a man set himself on fire in his car

What has been reported is that he has life threatening injuries and is fighting for his life.
I teared up writing this just now.
The media no longer report on suicides/attempted suicides for fear of copycats.
I am upset because I suspect that I know this person through another social forum site.
We are friends there and he is a tortured soul
His posts over the preceding month have been about how he was glad that he would soon be dead.
He intimated, no, he stated that "Even better if I was burnt to a bloody crisp."
He has not posted since Dec 29 and the event took place on New Years Day.
At a rally protesting Victoria's compulsory mandates he was interviewed by a Reporter called Tami Jane whom I am unable to find contact details for.
I am upset that I have hit roadblocks
I might have to sign up on Facebook to try and track down the reporter.
I almost cry when going to sleep because I keep seeing images of my friend attempting to take his life.
 

How awful for you not knowing if that was your friend. I certainly hope not. How did you hear about it? If it was TV or radio, maybe you could call them.

There has been the single report all over the world. - with pictures of the car burning - Plus the main newspaper in Melbourne.
All the reports are the same, verbatim and they never follow up these incidents via public reporting.
Ringing them will be fruitless because they are not going to give that information out.
My one hope is to somehow contact Tami Jane via Facebook.
But even with that, I tried to sign up on Facebook just now.
Going through the process I reached the part where a code was sent to my phone.
Guess what? I left my phone at home and right now I am in the John Forrest National Park.
So I will have to wait until I get home before I can follow through

I'm on FB. I'll see if I can find Tami Jane for you.

I think I found her but I can't contact her without becoming a friend. I doubt she will accept my request and I cannot message her unless I am a friend.

I'm not sure, but I think you can still message people on Facebook even if you aren't a Facebook user. Might be worth sending her a message to ask if she is the reporter. She seems to be a Facebook 'influencer' with over 8000 followers so I guess in the internet world she might be considered to be a reporter.

That is her. But I can not contact her through Facebook unless I sign up.
 
I have a video of Tami Jane speaking. I am hesitant about posting it because she is all about anti mandates and lockdowns. Not impressive to my way of thinking.
I have no respect for her tears in a crucial time as this especially since Victoria went through hell during the pandemic.

Your forum friend obviously has severe mental issues. He is in hospital and is being treated and will most likely recover.
