I am upset because I am unable to follow up information reported in Melbourne Australia where a man set himself on fire in his car

A man has set himself and his car on fire in front of horrified diners while screaming about Victoria's Covid-19 vaccine mandates.

The man emerged from a silver MG3 hatchback engulfed in flames near Church St in Richmond about 8pm on Saturday.

Police officers and firefighters doused the man with water to extinguish the blaze with the help of about five witnesses.

His skin was burning. He was on fire. His skin is stuck to [my] shirt,' she told The Herald Sun.

'He was off his face screaming about the mandates.'

  • Victoria Police said the man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries

The bystanders helped restrain the man before police officers pinned him to the ground.
He was then taken into an ambulance and rushed to hospital.
Police said he had suffered life-threatening injuries.
One witness who helped restrain the man said his flesh was burning before the flames were put out with water.

Lydia O'Connor was having dinner at a nearby restaurant when she heard the man screaming.
'He poured gas on himself and on his car. It was on purpose,' Ms O'Connor told the publication.
'He was screaming about mandates. He was screaming "no vax ID" and throwing books.'

Good news.
My friend posted an hour ago so it was not him who was involved in that tragic incident.
For anyone who may think I was being a bit dramatic it was because I was worried for my friend.
He posts very negative stuff and if anyone was to read his previous 50 posts they may have come to the same conclusion.
His latest post was this...

Finally found a song that is pretty much my destiny.

Ballad of a Dead Soldier

I will not post the song because it is rather coarse.
I thank all those here who were sympathetic re my post and I will hold off posting anything similar in the future because it can upset people.
Not withstanding, I feel very bad for the fellow who thought his only option was the course that he took.
Sadness prevails, though I will put it out of my head to preserve my own sanity.

Good to hear that it wasn't your friend, I'm sure you're very relieved.

Not being dramatic. At times of high emotion it is good to be able to pour out your heart to anyone who will listen. I'm glad your fears were not realised.

Now, go into your garden, or a nearby park and detox by watching the birds until you are your calm self again.

I am at John Forrest National Park and although it is rather hot at 34C it is very peaceful. If one can ignore the chattering Japanese tourists
