I cancelled Priceline American Airlines reservation; information below

I cancelled Priceline American Airlines flight reservations in February, waited a few weeks and called Priceline about refund for two months. In May, Priceline transferred my call to American Airlines who told me my refund is processing and nothing more. Called American Airlines weekly until June (this month) American Airlines told me #1 they did not withdraw money from my account (bank statement proves differently) and #2 refund is under administrative hold..

American Airlines stalled my refund beyond six months, by which they are not liable to refund my cancelled reservation.
 

Rescheduled to a different time. Original reservations were late in the day, pm instead of am.
 

Doesn't American allow you to just change the reservation, instead of cancelling and making a new reservation?
 
As was mentioned in another thread ...... honesty & customer service have become a thing of the past.
