I've been meaning to post something similar and ask...Is it ME?! Much of today's fruit has no taste. I know it's not because I'm older and my taste buds are waning. I still come across good tasting fruit on occasion but it's more rare. Apples hardly have taste at all so I gave up on them for awhile. Now that it's apple season, I tried a bag of organics last week. They taste a little better than the last couple of organic apples I bought, but nothing like the olden days. I also noticed the cores in a lot of them look strange.

However, Costco's apple pies are still delicious! And the apples are cut large and just a wee bit crunchy.
Even bananas don't taste as sweet as they used to. I haven't had a pear in a long time but I recently went back to buying oranges after a few decades. They taste decent, for the most part. I've bought navels and Halos over the last month. Those are the only fresh fruits I buy. I buy frozen cherries and mango chunks.
