I Guess Some People Are Just Not Into Sports

Is there a bedroom gymnastics category. Our first home was a rented apartment, it was a bit spartan but rather than buy fitted carpets we saved for a deposit on our own home. Coming home one day, our neighbour from the apartment below, said that he understood we were newly married but could we keep the bedroom gymnastics quiet, it was ruining his television viewing enjoyment. What we did isn't really printable, funny, but best kept both in the past and to ourselves. Is there a gold medal for bedroom gymnastics?

Some of those people not into sports includes writer Robert Silverberg; following quote from his book Tom O'Bedlam:

"{Trying to have a career as a professional athlete is} a useless thing to do with yourself, okay for a bit of private discipline or for a collegiate extracurric, but you {don’t} make a career out of it. For a career...you {have} to make some real use of your life, which {means} entering into the human race, not the 1500-meter one. You {have} to justify your presence on the planet by giving something to the others who {are} here in space and time sharing it with you, and being the {best athlete isn’t} close to being enough."

I'll tell people I'm a Yankee fan, but that's as close as I get.
It's a lie.
Actually, I couldn't care less about any of it.
Yeah, being originally from Chicago I tell people I'm a Cubs fan, but like you I really couldn't care less. But at least I understand the rules of baseball as opposed to football (or any sport basically) which is a mystery to me.

Oh wait, I do understand bowling and have even played it! (y) Does that count??

Don't tell that to basketballer LeBron James, currently making about $50 million per year, and recently passed the $1 billion threshold in net worth. Or Shaq Oneal, former basketballer, who's net worth is over $400 million. Or Magic Johnson, whose net worth is $1.2 billion. Or Michael Jordan, whose net worth is over $3 Billion.

And that's just the basketball players. Tiger Woods, golfer, has a net worth of $1.1 Billion.

The last time I followed sports, other than high school teams of my children, was when Carl Yastremski and Ted Williams were stars. My husband really isn't either. We're sportless nomads.
Oh, I did follow the Bruins for a time in the seventies.

My husband and I are from different states. We moved around to other different states in the military.
I think if we stayed in our home states we would have stayed better fans of our teams.
Our kids grew up in NC and my son has been a longtime Duke fan, Carolina Panthers, Hurricanes (season pass), all of it. He is a sports nut. He got none of that from us.

Oh right, @caroln, I forgot about bowling. Hahaha, I did that too. I would say it counts!
Come to think of it, so do jump rope, hop scotch and jacks. :ROFLMAO:

The one and only time I was interested in team sports, was when we lived in Niagara Falls, Ontario. We used to go to the minor hockey league games. It's much more exciting in person, than on t.v.

I know the names of most impact players in most sports from years pass, but not so much the new ones.
Now if they asked me about Sailing or Darts, I'm your man.

Great Dart players: John Lowe, Eric Bristow and Phil Taylor.

Best America's Cup Skippers: Russell Coutts and of course, Dennis Conner.

Not much chance of being asked, but I can bore my friends with the trivia...
