I retired in 1990 and last night drempt that I was still working. It was awful and I broke out into a cold sweat and started trembling. I got up and got my laptop and googled some pictures of my retirement activities and I finally settled down and went back to bed and had a good nights sleep.
I don't want to repeat that dream.

Those dreams about work are nightmares Lon, whenever I have one I'm thankful to wake up and know it wasn't real. :D

I hate sleeping late which is 6:00 am for me, thinking I should be in the shower getting ready for work. Its only happened a few times but it scared me too. I was used to being at work by 7:20 in the morning so I could get things done before everybody got there. I would already have my files for the day on my desk with my coffee and started on my collection calls for the day. Always been a morning person. Still am.

My husband often has these dreams. I know because he talks in his sleep.
Sometimes he seems to be in a staff meeting arguing a point and at other times he is teaching woodwork to young boys.
It always sounds stressful.

I retired 9 years ago and still dream of work!!!!!!

For about 17 years we traveled around with our small travel trailer. Our various trips took us from up in Nova Scotia down to Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. At this point we no longer have the energy to do it anymore. Now I like to watch travel shows on TV along with historical presentations. We do participate in clubs and groups here in our 55+ community.

I've had a few of those dreams, wandering the busy office building, kept getting on the wrong elevator that was going UP instead of DOWN to get out of the building. Trapped. Well, it hasn't been a year yet, maybe they'll go away.

After 13 years, I still dream about work. I worked 30 years for a company and saw it go from more than 2,000 employees down to nothing. I was among the last and helped shut it down. It was a very sad time. In my dreams I sometimes see it again. I wouldn't call them nightmares, just sad.

The first few years after getting out of the Navy I sometimes dreamed I was called back in. Those gave me the cold sweats. I can't imagine what it must be like for those who have seen actual combat.
