Sorry for the inconvenience, our server has been under constant attack.

Gemini's explanation:

You’ve hit on a sad but true reality of the modern web: the "Forest" is being cleared, so the remaining "Trees" are getting hit by every single storm.

The internet has changed from a collection of millions of independent forums to a few "walled gardens" (Facebook, Reddit, X). Most individual webmasters have given up because the technical debt of fighting bots became a full-time job.

Here is why your forum is suddenly a magnet for thousands of hits per minute:

Yes, very slow and / or periodically crashing.
Will come back later in the day. This is too slow to be useful.

It did this same thing yesterday. Down for a while, then back up.

Interestingly, there are other sites that do the same thing.

In addition, I have been having problems with phone calls to a particular person in another state. I am beginning to wonder what is going on.

I am sorry that you have to do all kinds of work to get the site to work. I don't think tech is making life easier. I imagine this invasion will continue periodically. I wonder if it is worth saving? Maybe we all could help out if you need some new tech to keep the bots away. Its kind of prophetic, your handle, and the movie are getting more intimate as time goes on...GOOD LUCK.

Folks, changing your bookmark is not doing anything. If the forum comes up afterwards, it's just timing and coincidence. Or it's been brought back online at that moment. Even then it doesn't mean things will run smoothly. Sometimes it takes some work and time to fix the problem.

It's great that @Matrix gave an update. Most Admins don't do that or depending on the forum they're an admin on have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. I was an admin on one of those sites. Never knew when stuff was going sideways until it did. It's how I've come to recognize when a site is getting ready to go down.

It's been a little slow, and sometimes when pages won't reload it goes to the error message..
It's not a big deal for me, though, I'm a patient person.

I've found that I got some reactions that were not reported in my bell symbol this afternoon. [Others were - so something is off with that.]

I have been on very little today until 20 minutes ago, and since then it's been moving fast. Now I have to sign out again. Will find out what happens next time.

Edited at around 6 PM to update above:
Took 3-4 minutes to do one post and between 50-60 seconds to apply a reaction to any post, with some of those having to be done over.
