I just got called for jury duty to superior court

You can always ask to be excused from jury duty at your age.

However, I was once on a jury and found the experience rewarding, even kind of thrilling in a way. It was a short trial, the whole thing was over in one day, so it wasn't exactly a big imposition on my life. I kept thinking, "Geez, this is real! We are not on a movie set, this is how the system really works!" We found the jerk guilty in less than 20 minutes.

I always wanted to serve on a jury. I have lived in the same county of 30,000 souls for 60 years. Once, just once I was called. I was selected as alternate #2. Found it a welcome diversion from work,my employer took the jury check and paid my normal salary.

Some in my small county must have been called numerous times and hated it,while I, ready and willing was passed by for years.

Take the age exemption. I took it when I lived in AZ, it was no big deal.

Here I am in my 82nd year, triple bypass, three Mini Strokes, a heart attack the keep me in hospital April and may this year(7 weeks), using a walker or cane full-time, with COPD and they want me to drive 50 miles to appear! I will gladly go tho jail first. Come and get me!

Isn't there somewhere on the form where you can give a reason why you should be exempted.

On the form I got, I just stated medical reasons and sent it back.

I never heard from them again.

I don't blame you for not wanting to appear. It would be stressful.
