I keep getting calls from a credit management agency

The calls continue - 1 a day. The only things I can think of that I owe are a visit to my PCP back in April, my PT sessions in May and an electrician that did some work for me 2 years ago.
1) I sent an email to the PCPs office asking why I was never billed for the April office visit. I haven't heard back yet.
2) The PT business said they are cutting down on paper usage and that's why I didn't receive an invoice. Well, I didn't even get an email. How am I supposed to know how much I owe them if they don't notify me? I asked for a paper bill so I could have it for my records. They said they'd get it out today.
3) The electrician fixed the pole light in April 2022. He worked when I wasn't home and he didn't leave a bill. After not hearing from him, I called him within a few days and asked for one so I could settle the bill. He said he'd have too look at his records which were in his truck. That was the last I heard about it.

I am still not answering as I fear a scam and I have no way of discerning if it's legit or fake. Every time it's a different phone number.

When you get multiple phone calls with the same message, each one with a different number, it's a scam. What legitimate company has a million different numbers, with area codes all over the place? I get them too; in my case, they're not "credit management," they claim to be the government calling about improving my Medicare benefits. The government never calls people, unless maybe they're returning a call you've made. It's not only a scam, it's probably a crime. I should probably report them, but I have a feeling it would be a lot of trouble, and they are probably issuing those calls from some foreign country anyway, so the government may be powerless to prosecute. So I just ignore them. I never pick up if any call looks the slightest bit suspicious.

They are getting annoying. It's bad enough to get them during "business" hours. but a few days ago I received a call after 10:30 at night from a spoofed number and it woke me up. A few days they have called before 7 am.

We get daily scam calls. I have Caller ID turned on. If it is a caller I don‘t recognize I just disconnect. In your case the consistently different number is a sign of scam. You can do a search of the number on the Internet. Might be very informative.

That's a smart approach to get to the bottom of it w/out exposing yourself to others that are unknown to you.

Did you check the link that was posted proving that the place that's calling is a real collection agency?

And this....
"The FDCPA allows a debt collector to use different phone numbers. However, they must present their identity to the debtor. They are not required to reveal their name, but they must convey the name of the agency they are representing"

Contacting them would tell you what the debt is. "Assuming" it's a scam could turn out to be costly. Can't you just contact them? You can't get scammed if you don't allow it. You said they identified themselves by their agency. I'm just not understanding...

When I get phone calls from my medical provider it's a different number each time. Large companies have multiple phone numbers. I still don't get what Deb has to lose by calling them to find out what this is about. She's smart. If it's a scam, she'll know within a minute - if not, she can work the problem.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned above, a quick and free check of your credit score would most likely show an unpaid debt, especially if they sent it to a collection agency.

It's not a matter of being smart it's a matter of "professionals" whether scammers or a collection agency vs an amateur.

When my late husband had PT for his knee replacement, we had to pay his co-pay every time he went. It was $40/per visit. Don't know what kind of insurance you have or a PT business that doesn't require payment at time of service (if you're required to make a co-pay).

Also, not paying your PCP visits will get you turned into collections after they've carried on the books for a certain length of time.

Why don't you check your credit online like so many have suggested? You ask for advice but never take it.

Everyone has a credit score, you don't need a credit card to get one. I used to use Experian, I think the name was, to check my score in the old days when it mattered more.

If you don't pay a debt collector or collection agency, you’ll likely face increasing efforts to collect the debt via phone calls, letters, or even social media contact. Not paying a debt in collections will also hurt your credit score. If you don’t pay, the collection agency can sue you to try to collect the debt. If successful, the court may grant them the authority to garnish your wages or bank account or place a lien on your property. You can defend yourself in a debt collection lawsuit or file bankruptcy to stop collection actions.

Since Deb is complaining about increased call it sounds to me like that info. Snail mail might be next showing a lawsuit has been initiated. That won't be a happy way to find out what she should be putting more effort into finding out.

I went through this about 20 years ago when I had to get car and home insurance. The agency was dubious of me because they couldn't get a credit report. I guess they figure to chance it since I had them set up an autopay account.

I finally sent an email to my attorney asking what to do about the daily calls. This is the reply:

Probably a scam. Ignore the calls. If you owe a debt they would have to write to you. They are probably trying to scam you into giving your social security number or other personal information.

I never answer any calls that aren’t in my contacts. They can leave a message and if it’s a place I recognize I call them back. If you owe someone money absolutely they will send you a letter. It’s way too dangerous to contact unknown people.

I just want the calls to stop.
I tried setting my call blocker to HIGH SECURITY, but it only blocks calls that are identified as spam. Most of the calls are IDed as "TOLL FREE CALL" or "MCM".
My only other option is to block all calls except a few specified ones. However, upon reading about it, this will also block 911 calls.

We were being harassed by a credit agency working on behalf of a parking lot business. They had our old license plate numbers and kept sending mail and calling. That plate had been surrendered 8 years prior. Probably the parking lot attendant had misread a dirty plate and our names came up. They harassed us for a long time and would have kept it up until we proved that we weren’t involved with that plate number. It could have been a debt on record that would interfer with our wills.

Can't you simply block the individual number? My phone filters potential spam calls but ocassionally one will slip thru, when that happens I block the number.
