I miss the days of Jerry Springer TV

I got to see a taping of the Tempest Bledsoe, (one of the Cosby kids) show, it's was a Springer type show. There was a fighting husband, wife, mother-in-law, family feud- lot's of yelling, screaming , tears, etc. But, during the commercial breaks, those quarreling people sat there and calmly discussed where they were all going for dinner. Cameras came back on, and they were 'fighting" again. It was totally fake. Yet, for not being trained actors, the 'fighters" put on a good show.

Those heady days of the Jerry Springer show, Trisha and Jeremy Kyle.
I used to settle down with snacks and thoroughly enjoy watching the slanging matches. The inevitable DNA test results, the lie detectors, the shouting - it was pure circus entertainment. Those early years were great - dirty laundry being thoroughly washed in public.
We don't have anything fun to watch now.
I just noticed last night when I was scrolling through the TV channels there is a Channel. forget which one... which is still showing Springer shows... I'll have a look to find the name or number of the channel later if you're interested.. :D

I miss him too. I used to watch his show became of the utter absurdity of it. That's what made it funny. Someone described it as trying not to look at a bad accident. That's for sure 😊. I heard it was all staged though.

I just had breakfast with my daughter and her BF. He used to live in Stamford, CT. years ago when Jerry Springer had his show. He said that Jerry came into the Starbucks where he was working every week.

He said he was a very nice guy to talk to.

Trashy, ridiculously stupid comedy is usually the most successful.
It's weekly thinking up more stupid that makes it go. Start rerunning
the same general thoughts just different characters, but an old theme
usually brings ruin to it. Laugh In's same stuff over and over comes to mind.
The Cheer leaders on SNL almost made it there. The news desk is getting old.
Remember The Smertz? But it is sorta funny still. I know of a Fast Mart on Smertz St.

Really

Trivial side note here, @Rose65 ... did you know that Jerry was an attorney as well as the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio, for a short time? His parents were German Jews fleeing the Holocaust.
Yes [being a Cincinnatian] I heard him speak a few times. He was actually smart, but did some dumb things . Like writing a check to a hooker back in the day .... DUH. He was also a local news anchor for awhile . He did have a decent on-air personality for news.

He was the first to use the sign-off ........ [Take of yourself and each other] Now used by Lester Holt Which, IMO should not be permitted.

I watched his calamity show once or twice ..... that was enough !
