Wife and I are really blessed. Nothing we "need". May be looking at a new refrigerator in the not too distant future. The one we have has been giving some hints of wanting to die. But... it's still working fine. A few "wants". I'd take a new laptop, and newer truck, and a small home or apartment where someone else took care of the outside stuff.
We woke up on the morning of our 39th wedding anniversary dead broke... bankrupt. Had lost our life savings. Picked up and started from scratch. Worked until I was 70 at a job that I not only enjoyed, but treated us quite well financially. Required lots of travel and nights in hotels. Wife was a saint, left at home. She weathered a flooded basement, hail storm that took the windshield out of her car, broken garage doors, etc. I would be hundreds of miles away and felling helpless. But, we made it through and have a sincere appreciation for what we do have.
No, there's nothing we "need" other than each other and the hope our kids and grandkids remain healthy and happy.
